Prince George, B.C. – When classes are over at Duchess Park Secondary this afternoon, a different report card will be delivered.
Adrienne Montani a Provincial Organizer with First Call B.C. will be speaking on the issue of child poverty in a presentation at the Duchess Park theatre.
Montani will be delivering a preview of the 2012 Child Poverty Report Card which will be officially released on Thursday.
The presentation will come to a close around 4:45, and that marks the start of a march to the constituency office of MLA Shirley Bond.
Montani spent the day in Prince George yesterday researching child labour conditions in the City. It’s been three years since the Coalition released its report on the increasing number of work related injury claims among those under the age of 15. Legislation that took effect in 2004, requires only that children under 15 years have written permission from one parent or guardian in order to be employed at a particular workplace.
