Proposed Pipeline Visited on Three Fronts Today

Thursday, November 22, 2012 @ 3:56 AM

Prince George, B.C.- The Northern Gateway twin pipeline proposal will be the focus of three events taking place in Prince George today.

First, the Joint Review Panel will resume its hearings this morning at the Columbus Centre on Domano Boulevard . The Secretariat and Panel will be asking questions of Enbridge’s expert panel.

Later this morning, Mayors from two Alberta communities will be meeting with members of the community .

Spruce Grove Mayor Stuart Houston, and Leduc’s Mayor Greg Krischke are in Prince George to talk with local government, community and business leaders . They will be sharing a message of the importance of having projects like the Northern Gateway pipeline in place in order to give Canadian oil products access to the global market.  Both mayors are members of the Capital Region Board in Alberta.

Mayor Houston is the Chair of the Board’s Pipeline Linkages Strategy Committee and Mayor Krischke is a member of the committee.  The two mayors will  also  visit Kitimat.

The third event is set for this evening at UNBC, where provincial New Democrat candidates have organized a discussion panel. That event is being held in the Weldwood lecture theatre at 7 p.m.

i have a suspicion that Enbridge is a decoy as other pipelines are going to get pushed thru.

The gas pipeline that gets pushed into the ground, if the right pipe is used, I am sure it can push oil as well. It can also push water,a whole bunch of stuff as well.

this enbridge pipedream or the PTP, for that matter, will not go ahead, as some think…these projects will be taken to court on infringement of aboriginal rights and title…

these projects are escalating in confrontation, as attested in this video…

I totally enjoyed the automated opinion pole “phone call” I got last night, posing as an opinion pole about media outlets and news reporting. Funny after 2 news or media related questions the pole went straight for questions about Enbridge and the Northern Gateway. Humm … As I wonder to my self what could this be??? More opinion pumping in hopes of oil pumping? Tell yah what, this whole Enbridge thing is just getting bloody annoying.
Little Ms Christy needs to learn to say NO, and end this already.

Could have been the NDP or some unelected super rich NGO doing the pole.

I cannot believe a story with the word “pipeline” in the title has been up for 24 hours without us having to read criminalminds diatribe ;)

Hey silver, you and the rest of your lefty buddies on here should be proud that organized groups of welfare bums control the industry of our province in the name of ‘aboriginal’ rights…

hey birdman,

easy pal, i ain’t lefty or righty, or any of those monikers…just showing what is happening on the land, is all…i understand economic development, it’s needed to pay for services we all enjoy…for some though, the compromise of a oil pipeline or natural gas pipeline is too much for SOME FNs, not all, but for some…

Enbridge’s consultation, well can’t call it that, because its not consultation at all, its “here you go, take it or leave it” was the wrong approach, when dealing with FNs…a really flawed approach…and unfortunately, it will end up in court, with those FNs that oppose this NGP project, it’ll be fact within a couple of years or less, depending on when the JRP approves it…this project won’t see the light of day…
