Prince George, B.C. – The true measure that the Christmas season is here was evident today as Santa Claus arrived at Pine Centre Mall.
Jolly old St. Nick arrived at 11 Saturday morning, compliments of the Prince George Fire Department. And Santa, who looks like he’s been dieting, was welcomed by scores of young children who had gathered just inside the doors at the north entrance to the mall. At the first sight of him the yelps and screams and chants of “It’s Santa, it’s Santa” rose up from some of those excited kids, as beaming parents snapped as many pictures as possible of their beaming children.
From there Santa was escorted by Frosty the Snowman and the Prince George Pipe and Drum band (photo to right) up and down a couple of the arms of the mall, high-fiving every youngster he came across. Some were excited, some bewildered, others followed him as though he were the Pied Piper. The Pipes and Drums and Mr Claus eventually made their way to the Centre Court snow globe display, where Santa will appear daily from now until December 24th to have his picture taken will all of those good girls and boys.
