Civic Square Light Up A Blast
Prince George, B.C.- The temperature may have been falling, but that didn’t frighten off hundreds of Prince George residents from taking in the 19th annual Christmas Light Up event at the Civic Square.
About 500 people took in the event which included everything from hayrides and hot chocolate, to a Gangnam Style flash mob, figure skating, Christmas carols and a visit from Santa.

With events in the Art Gallery, the Library and the Festival of Trees underway in the Civic Centre, the Civic Square was surrounded with events focused on celebrating the season.
Civic Centre Manager Myles Tycholis says the good folks at Canadian Tire can be thanked for all the lights, as they donated 2,000 lights to the event. Warmac Industries, the same folks who delivered the tree to the Coast Inn of the North, delivered the tree that was lit up in the Civic square.

It was festive, tots were dancing I’m front of the choir, skaters braved the cold, and all were smiling. It was a nice night for my daughter and I, we enjoyed it!
