Prince George, B.C.- For the second straight year, the folks at IDL have come through for the Salvation Army.
Yesterday, Shelly Robertson and Dorothea Soupidis of IDL Prince George, delivered the non perishable food items and an envelope stuffed with cash, cheques and gift cards worth $4217.23 from the Prince George IDL team which took part in the IDL fund and food donation challenge.
The challenge was the idea of a couple of IDL employees who thought a little friendly rivalry between IDL project sites could be a boost to charity. The challenge was to be the site which raised the most food items and cash to be donated to the food banks in the communities of each job site.
That challenge last year saw IDL workers collect more than a thousand non perishable food items and more than $1,900 dollars. IDL matched the cash for a total donation of $3862.
Well IDL expanded the challenge this year, as IDL Projects is now working in three provinces.
The challenge would see the winning site have a hot lunch cooked for them by the owners group ofIDL Projects.
While the Prince George team collected 141 items and more than $4 thousand in cash, that was great news for the Salvation Army, but not enough to win the challenge.
That honour goes to the Kitimat Modernization Project workers, who raised 1100 non perishable items, and collected $5443 in cash.
Here is how all of the sites finished:
- KMP site Kitimat BC with 1100 Non-perishable items and $5443 donated.
- Nabiye site Cold Lake AB with 181 non-perishable items and $6541.75
- Conifex Bio-mass Site Mackenzie BC- 248 items and $4100 donated.
- Prince George site- 141 items and $4217 donated.
- Nisku site Nisku AB- 1305 items and $1660 donated
- HVMO site- Logan Lake BC- 347 items and $3298.27
- Williams Energy site- Ft. McMurray AB- $2300 donated
- Karnalyte Potash site Wynyard Sask.- 315 items and $812 donated.
- Skookum Creek ROR site- Squamish BC- 106 items donated.
- IDL & JVD Corporate donations- $10,000 donated.
Grand Total of 3843 non-perishable items and $38,522.26 cash donated to the food banks in the respected communities where IDL Projects Inc. job sites are located.
