Prince George, B.C.- Operation Red Nose returns for its second weekend of 2012 and is prepared to deal with increased demand for a safe ride home.
There will be 18 volunteer teams out on the road Friday and another 24 teams out Saturday to help get party-goers home safely.
“We’ve never had this many teams out on the road but due to our record-breaking opening weekend of 122 rides, we expect to be even busier this weekend,” said Andrea Johnson, Operation Red Nose spokesperson. “Our volunteers have stepped up and they really want to help keep Prince George roads safe.”
Operation Red Nose is a free, seasonal service, organized by the Rotary Club of Prince George – Nechako, in partnership with the RCMP and ICBC that allows party-goers to not only get themselves home safely, but their vehicles too.
The phone lines will open at 9 p.m. and stay open until 3 a.m. Party-goers can call 250-962-RIDE.
Early in the evening, volunteers clad in red vests, will visit various pubs and holiday parties, showing their colours and handing out coasters information about Operation Red Nose. They work in teams of three and one person, the designated driver, will take you home in your vehicle.
On the second weekend in 2011, Operation Red Nose provided 146 safe rides home. On the second weekend in 2010, it provided 166 safe rides home.
“If our opening weekend was any indication where we eclipsed our 2010 totals, we are prepared to deal with expected demand,” said Johnson.

Hey , how about a drive this Christmas to collect used Dildos and give them away to lonely seniors this year?
Seems like they collect food, coats and gifts for the needy. Lets do something for horney seniors this year!
Hit me up if your game for this one.
I HIGHLY recommend this service to anyone – used it last weekend and it was awesome. Crawl out of bed and the truck was in the driveway, and even with a very nice donation it was cheaper than a cab :)
