ICBC And COPE Ratify Agreement
Victoria, B.C. – The Insurance Corporation of British Columbia and Canadian Office and Professional Employees union (COPE 378) have ratified a two-year agreement under the Cooperative Gains Mandate.
The agreement covers the approximately 4,600 COPE 378 members who work in various areas of ICBC’s operations, including customer claims, driver licensing and administering road tests, as well as providing insurance, vehicle licensing, road safety and general administrative support.
The two-year agreement includes four separate, general wage increases of one per cent each funded from within existing budgets, as required by the Cooperative Gains Mandate.
The Mandate provides public-sector employers with the ability to negotiate modest wage increases funded from savings within existing budgets, not adding costs to taxpayers and ratepayers, and not sacrificing services.
