Prince George, B.C.- There is positive news on housing starts in Prince George.
Canada Mortgage and Housing says for November of this year, there were 18 single family homes started, compared to just 7 in November of last year.
There were 2 multiple family dwellings started last month, compared to none started in the same month a year ago.
In communities of comparable size, Prince George sits in the middle of the pack for starts – behind Nanaimo (23 SFD starts) and Chilliwack (21), but ahead of Kamloops (17) and Vernon (15). Kamloops recorded six fewer starts this November compared to the same month last year.
As for the year to date figures, they, too, are positive, with 150 single family starts as of the end of November 2012, compared to 113 such starts in the same period in 2011.

Whaaaaaat? Were are all the “chicken littles” that are on here daily ranting that the sky is falling and we are doomed unless we elect an NDP govt next time?
Surely they can find SOME reason to criticize and vilify Christy Clarke and the Liberals because housing starts are nicely rising and the unemployment rate just dropped to a 5 year low.
After all, who wants a Premier and government who can create jobs and grow the economy…….surely not the historical naysayers on this site….so where are you?
Don’t let us down guys…we need a good laugh every day and you guys pretty much provide it.
