Wednesday, December 12, 2012 @ 3:59 AM
Prince George, B.C. – Sheryl Warrington ( in photo at right) has been re-elected as Chair of the Board of Trustees for School District 57. She was elected by acclamation.

This is her second term as Chair. She was first elected to the post following the School Board election last year. She was elected to take  over the post that had been previously held by Lyn Hall who left the School Board to move into municipal politics and a seat in the City Council Chamber.

“It is an honour to sit in this chair” said Warrington “ We have a great Board which does great work.”

The position of Vice Chair was won by Trustee Tim Bennett who collected more votes than  the other nominee, Trustee Brenda Hooker.  This is Trustee Bennett’s first time in that post.    Trustee Sharon Bourassa had served in that role in the past year, but opted to step aside to allow one of her colleagues the opportunity.

Trustee Brenda Hooker was elected to be the B.C.School Trustees Association representative.

Trustee Trish Bella was  elected by acclamation  to be the SD 57  representative  to the  BC Public School Employees Association.
