Must of been exremely icy on the coq
I have been in a bus that hit the ditch going to Powder King 20+ years ago. You know conditions are pretty bad when they hit the ditch.
My group of friends and I had to catch a ride with another vehicle because there was no word on when another bus would be sent (pre-cell phone days) and we ended up with the 5 of us in the back of a pickup truck’s canopy with a large propane tank and all our ski equipment. Now that was even scarier than the bus hitting the ditch.
When it is a slow moving vehicle causing a wreck that involves 4×4’s there are 500 posts in 2 hours condemning all owners of said vehicles as idiots. But when it is a bus full of passengers everyone feels the need to wait for the whole story to be reported before passing any judgement. How novel.

If I’ve told you once, I’ve told you a million times. Don’t exaggerate.
Bus drivers are considered profesional drivers, not like most SUV drivers.
What does “professional driver” mean? Drives for a living?
Passing a slower vehicle up a hill? It has been removed from the article, but it did mention is happened while said professional driver was trying to pass a slower vehicle. Seems to me speed and the conditions might be the reason? Might be why the RCMP is investigating. In-fact this incident and many others like it should dispel the silly notion that anyone should be granted automatic “professional driver” status.
