Weird Move in a Williams Lake Courtroom

Tuesday, December 18, 2012 @ 4:11 PM

Williams Lake, B.C. – A strange twist in a Williams Lake courtroom today.

During  the hearing for an accused  in provincial court today,  his  common law wife tossed  something to him  as he sat in the prisoner’s box.

Witnesses say they watched her make the toss. Turns out the  item tossed into the prisoner’s box was a bag of marijuana.

She was arrested at the scene and is now facing a  charge of  trafficking.

"In my time as a police officer, I’ve seen, and heard of, a number of odd criminal offences but I have to admit this is definitely one of the stranger ones", says Inspector Warren Brown, Officer in Charge of Williams Lake RCMP Detachment.

It’s a fine line between weird and stupid.

Somebody call Canada’s dumbest criminal

Oh my goodness….they should either give her a breathalyzer, or an IQ test. But I think she’d fail both.

Some bleach in the gene pool of reproduction please.

Watch the thrower plead not guilty. Will happen.

Yee haa the north

So why was he in court? Trafficking drugs?

So what if these were his drugs, and she threw them at him to get them out of the house/apartment?

Just glad she didn’t throw him a gun.
Actually, this is hilarious, gonna laugh about this for a while. Hope she doesn’t have kids…..

Although throwing a bag of pot at a prisoner is weird, stupid, bizarre, etc… How is it trafficking?

This is nothing but a colossal waste of taxpayer’s money and police resources. Why don’t they go out and try to stop some real crimes.

Ya like speeders!

How would it not be trafficking? She had possession of something that’s still illegal, and passed it to someone else.

Tossing something isn’t the same as selling it. It probably belonged to the loser boyfriend

Quite a pair. She was probably high. Moron.

she gave somebody drugs.. that is considered trafficking. Thought that was common knowledge

isnt there bigger fish to fry than this?

You expect the courts to turn a blind eye to someone committing a crime right in front of them? That seems pretty stupid.

It all depends if it was less than 30-grams… probably was. Then its just personal, and who’s to say whose it is? I would think she must of thought… lol.

I bet she walks. Hard to prove the drugs weren’t his to begin with and that cash or like kind had changed hands to involve trafficking. If it was just returning personal property and its a small amount… then the charge is the wrong charge.

Probably more appropriate to be charged with being in contempt of court. that would surely stick in this case. Trafficking however I think is a freebee to the accused.

It doesn’t matter how much it was or if he owned the weed or not. She physically gave it to him and that is considered trafficking. I think you are mistaking it for if she was caught with that amount it could be considered personal.. There is no way she gets out of this one. All they have to prove is that she gave drugs to someone and a judge actually watched her do it in a courtroom lol.

Trafficking would be an entirely appropriate charge. She had possession of a bag of marijuana and passed it to someone else. Whether she was paid for it or not is immaterial, it is still a controlled substance illegal to possess for distribution to someone else. And so it should remain, if we have any sanity left in this country at all.

Lol. That is the most funny thing I’ve ever heard of. The cops had to arrest her because there were whitnesses. Lol.

“You expect the courts to turn a blind eye to someone committing a crime right in front of them?” .. better hope you don’t let a cop see you jaywalk someday. My point is, it is such a small infraction that it shouldnt waste the courts time. Give her a fine and be done with it, instead there will be lawyers, judges, cop witnesses and a bunch of time spent on this ALL at taxpayers expense. Sometimes a small infraction should be dealt with in a small way. She was obviously trying to make a political statement and used this court as a venue.

Everyone is entitled to a fair trial in court of law. Even if a law was broken in a court of law.

Hey babe, looks like I might be going away for a while. Bring some weed down and pass it to me.
Oh, OK sweetie………

But: “She was obviously trying to make a political statement and used this court as a venue.”

She was? How do you know?

“She was? How do you know?”
Because no one is that stupid and is still alive. Evolution would have taken care of that one a long time ago.

I think you’re giving this woman far too much credit. Either that, or you haven’t been reading the news for very long.

Well, it ain’t trafficking, its simple possession, more than anything it’s mischief and contempt of court.
Probation, again,….sigh…..
By the way, the criminal code is online…..

Grizzly1, I suggest you go down to Williams Lake and start teaching those law enforcement officers how to do their job. Clearly you know more than they do about what charges should be laid.

It wasn’t in her possession after she tossed it to the prisoner, which, as demonstrated by this action, was clearly her intention. So while it was in her possession it was obviously for the purpose of trafficking. Which she is now accused of being engaged in. She’ll get her day in Court, be able to enter her plea to the charge levied against her, of which the Court will consider her innocent until she is proven guilty.

I wonder if she’s got a single sister?
