Prince George, B.C. – December 21st has come and gone and we at 250 News are still here to welcome you to our site..jpg)

In very simple terms, December 21st marked the end of the fourth age of the Mayan calendar, coinciding with the winter Solstice and, while some did a Chicken Little, end of the world routine, the end of this stage of the Mayan calendar was not predicting the end of the world.
According to the Maya there were three previous worlds. The first began with the creation of the Earth. In the second and third ages the gods created humans. A “zero date” 13.0.0.0.0 indicated the end of the third world and beginning of a fourth world, the one which ended yesterday, when another 13.0.0.0.0 occurred.
However there’s nothing to indicate the Maya believed that would be the date of the apocalypse, as some have predicted. In fact, December 21st, 2012 marked a renewal, a re-birth.
Happy December 22nd. How’s the shopping going?

So that’s what the end of the world was like… kind of boring. I guess we’re all born again now, so we can look forward to a new world resolution this year.
My new world resolution is to keep it simple by eating less peanut butter and jam sandwiches because I think they plug up the system. Maybe eat more croissants and donuts or something. Its a new world out there….
Guess I’ll have to shovel my driveway I thought it was going to melt yesterday.
Melt? You must work for the City department responsible for scheduling snow clearing.
I hear Subaru is testing this for Prince George.
Since the City is into the car testing business, maybe we should approve them buying this vehicle to see how it does on unplowed streets.
Of course, they do not need our approval. That was wishful thinking on my part. ;-)
