Red Nose Has Busy Weekend
Prince George,B.C.- Operation Red Nose has racked up another very busy weekend.
On Friday, the 21st, they provided 134 safe rides home, that’s compared to 103 rides on the samenightlast year, and 142 on the same night in 2010.
On Saturday, 19 volunteer road teams provided 103 safe rides home. That is down from 159 rides on the same night last year, and 177 for the same night in 2010, but that is likely because of the way Christmas falls this year says Operation Red Nose spokesperson Andrea Johnson "A lot of people were travelling to their destination to celebrate the holidays and most companies already held their Christmas parties. The majority of clients we did pick up on Saturday were from house parties."
Operation Red Nose will take a break on the 28th and 29th off as they prepare for the big night making sure New Years revellers get home safe and sound. "In 2010, our best year to date, we provided 273 rides home, while in 2011, we provided 236 rides home" says Johnson.
