RCMP And Nisga’a Continue To Forge Relationship
Lisims Nass Valley, BC – The RCMP and Nisga’a Lisims Government held a flag-raising ceremony outside the Lisims-Nass Valley RCMP Detachment earlier this month…
Detachment Commander, Sergeant Donovan Tait, says the ceremony was the second RCMP-led event this year aimed at demonstrating a commitment to the inclusion and understanding of Nisga’a culture in local policing initiatives.
"We have waited a long time for this opportunity," says Sergeant Tait. "We are excited and proud to be able to show our respect for the Nation this way.

Angaye’e commended the commander and his staff for their ongoing commitment to fostering an effective and respectful relationship with the Nisga’a Nation.
This past October a ceremony was held to celebrate artwork created by Nisga’a artist, Brad Percival, that was a unique fusion of the RCMP crest with Nisga’a symbols, based on the principle of Sayt-K’iíim-Goot (Working Together in Unity).
