BC hydro was asking for increases in the hydro rates of up to 50% but the BCUC would not allow it back in 2009 and 2010. There only option of getting the increases thy needed was to put in the smart meters this way thy did not need the BCUC approval now with smart meters thy can charge for peak usage times get the increases thy need and we wonder why the BC liberals rushed in the clean energy act.. BC hydro backed down on the big increases for smaller increases in the rates but when added up we will be paying 100% higher bills in the next few years. If the liberal party could have stop taken money out of hydro and putting into general revenue I don’t think there would have bin any issues with hydro needing money to build new projects

No. Socialism posits that the ‘poor are poor because the rich are rich’. And the remedy for that is to make the poor a little richer by making the rich a lot poorer. When Jesus multiplied the ‘loaves and fishes’ possessed by a few of his followers so that He could feed the multitude that were coming to follow him, He didn’t RE-DISTRIBUTE an ‘insufficiency’. Which would only have resulted in everyone getting something to eat, but still ‘insufficient’ to satiate their hunger and still starving. Rather He created a SUFFICIENCY instead. And everyone ate until they were full.

There might be some justification for the socialist idea of ‘re-distribution’ if wealth itself, the actual material necessities of life, were limited or finite. And if some people had too much others might then have too little. But in a world where real material wealth is neither limited nor finite, where we in this country already have the capacity to ‘produce’ far in excess of our need or desire to ‘consume’, poverty is certainly not a ‘material’ condition made necessary primarily by a shortage of ‘material’ goods. But rather a ‘financial’ condition created by an INSUFFICIENCY of money.

And there’s no way that an ‘insufficiency’ of money can ever be made a ‘sufficiency’ by simply RE-distributing it. Socialism will always fail, because it is fundamentally flawed in its conception of FINANCE.

BTW, ‘Smart’ meters, whatever their other merits or demerits, if any, are being pushed worldwide to create a FURTHER shortage of ‘money’, (or, more correctly, ‘visible’ purchasing power in the hands of the public).

So are water meters. Which you’ll soon be subject to having, if you don’t already, and even have to instal on any private well. As well as coming increases in taxes, fees, licences, etc., that we’re forced to pay to ‘our’ government masters to continue to live. Socialism is merely monopoly State capitalism with enhanced control by those who currently control Finance ~ and at present that sure ISN’T us.

Well said Socred. I never heard the Jesus analogy before, but its a very good one as it relates to social credit. The idea of creating sufficiency as opposed to redistribution for political forms of monopolistic capital and government control.

IMO Smart meters are infrastructure for a police state and weaken the integrity of the power grid for those that would abuse it for their own benefit, whether domestic or foreign.

The way that it was brought in by the BC liberals says a lot about who’s side they are really on.
