Prince George, B.C.- Three people face possible charges following a home invasion on Tamarack Street last night.
According to Prince George RCMP, just after 10 last night, there was a report of a home invasion in the 1700 block of Tamarack Street.
When officers arrived on scene, they located a 27 year old man who was suffering from apparent knife wounds. He was transported to the University Hospital of Northern B.C. His wounds are not thought to be life threatening.
Police believe the home invasion involved up to four persons, who forced their way into the home. One of the suspects produced a handgun and confronted the lone male occupant. There was a struggle, a knife was produced and both the victim and one of the suspects were injured.
When officers arrived at the hospital, they spotted three suspects, one of them suffering from injuries that appeared to have been caused by a knife. A 28 year old man, a 25 year old woman and a 47 year old woman, all from Prince George, were taken into custody without incident.
( at right, police converge on the Hospital, concerned the wounded suspect would have a gun. Witnesses tell 250News that at one point there were at least 12 officers on the scene. -photo submitted )
A vehicle believed to have been used in the Home Invasion, was located in the hospital parking lot and seized by police. Police continue to look for another male suspect and the hand gun.
The Prince George RCMP remain on scene gathering evidence. At this time, investigators do not believe any shots were fired from the gun. It is believed that this was a targeted attack and that the public is not at risk. The investigation is continuing.
The two female suspects have been released to appear in Court at a later date. Police are seeking Judicial authority to remand the male in custody.
Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to contact the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1(800)222-8477, online at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca(English only), or Text-A-Tip to CRIMES (274637) using keyword "pgtips".

Unfortunately the public IS at risk from situations like these. I can’t imagine what it must have been like for the hospital employees, and the patients, to have to be subject to this..
“It is believed that this was a targeted attack and that the public is not at risk.”
That has to be one the stupidest statements the police always make after one of these incidents. Hello, there are weapons involved, bullets can go through building. All the losers showed up at the hospital at the same time. How was the public not at risk?
A gun, eh? My queston would be, “Did he whip out his Carecard upon his arrival or did he leave it at home”?
How many more of these home invasions are going to happen before something is done to discourage these people from thinking this is acceptable in our communities???? Lock them up and throw away the key.
Everyone is anti-home invasion. Unfortunately, they’re impossible to predict. As long as there’s crime, drugs, and gangs, home invasions and other such activities will follow.
As far as the ‘public being at risk’, you’re always at risk, pretty much as soon as you get out of bed in the morning. There are no guarantees, I wouldn’t get too caught up in the phrase. I think the police were trying to say this wasn’t a random event.
I read once that home invasions in the lower mainland were young Asians going after older ones cause they knew that the elders always kept their moolah in the pillow case`s cause they didn`t trust banks.
Here it seems like drugs users are hitting houses they seem to know drugs and moolah are at.
hence the public are not at risk.
Yes, but these people are idiots and once in awhile they are going to bust into the wrong side of the duplexe.
Walk softly and carry a big stick.
I can’t see how the police can say that the public is not at risk. I’ll bet they stormed the hospital with their guns drawn knowing that one of the perps might be armed. If they don’t think the public is at risk they can leave their shot guns and pistols at the police station or better yet just turn them in for disposal. No need to confront criminals with firearms like they expect us to do when our homes are invaded.
Personally I would rather be judged by 12 than carried out by 6.
Well said Armchair.
Facts are low lifes these days do not respect the home of others when greedy impoverished minds covet what is not theirs. The thinking is pervasive that it is alright to violently invade a home for an entitlement so long as the victim has perceived legal liabilities of their own.
These types don’t limit their violence to only known acquaintances… they have collateral damage as well, and soon old habits blur the lines and anyone can become a target. Like someone said above, maybe its as simple as a wrong address or even something you posted in an online classified.
‘…The two female suspects have been released to appear in Court at a later date…’
This is the danger to our society. They were part of a serious crime and they are bcak on the street? A good way to cut down on crime would be to take ‘bail’ and ‘promises to appear’ seriously. Being remanded to jail intil a trial date would guarantee absoutely no chance of re-offending…and they don’t need welfare checks while they’re in the cooler either..
