Spectra Shares Project Plan with Council

Monday, January 7, 2013 @ 3:59 AM
Prince George, B.C.- Tonight’s first meeting of 2013 for the City of Prince George Council, will see Spectra energy make a presentation on it’s proposed new pipeline route.

This line would come south from the Fort Nelson area then , north of Mackenzie ,would head west. There are three different options for the line route once it reaches the Cranberry junction, but the ultimate  is a liquefaction plant in Prince Rupert.

It is estimated the line will be about 850 kilometres long, would create about 4,000 jobs during it’s construction and a further 50-60 permanent  positions once complete.

If the project receives all the necessary approvals, construction could start as early as 2015. The line could be complete and operational, delivering 4.2 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day to the LNG plant in 2019.

A far more beneficial project than the Enbridge/Northern Gateway project.
