RCMP Police Dog Finds Missing Alberta Man In Tumbler Ridge

Tumbler Ridge- A man with a medical condition, missing from Alberta, in a rural wooded area was found yesterday by the RCMP Dog unit, Members of the Tumbler Ridge Detachment, and the Peace River Coal Mine Rescue Unit.
At 10.25 am. Yesterday police were notified by Coal Mine personnel of an abandoned vehicle at the 11 Kilometre mark on the Core Lodge Road. An Alberta license plate revealed that it belonged to an Alberta man who was reported missing.
He had been missing since January 7th. The RCMP Police dog “Crash” along with his handler CPL Cam Long located the missing man about 200 meters away from the vehicle.
He was found breathing but unresponsive. The RCMP from Tumbler Ridge along with the Peace Coal Mine rescue unit was able to bring the man out under difficult conditions, deep snow and hilly terrain.
He was airlifted to Grande Prairie Hospital were he was treated for severe frost bite. He remains there in stable condition.
