Prince George Gathers Around Lance Morgan

Prince George, B.C. – Family and friends from his adopted home town of Prince George will gather with those from far and wide at today’s Celebration of Life for Lance Morgan.
Reverend Morgan, pastor emeritus at First Baptist Church, passed away January 4th at the age of 79. Prior to retiring in
1998, he had served as the Senior Pastor at First Baptist for 36 years. But he was also very well-known throughout the community for his various works in many capacities. In fact, many couples in the city were married by Lance Morgan. He was also the Prince George Citizen of the Year in 1984.

The celebration of his life is being held at First Baptist Church at 11:30 this morning. The sanctuary itself has seating capacity of 600. Chairs will also be set up in other rooms at the church to watch livestreaming of the service. As well, due to the anticipated large turnout, the service will be livestreamed to Vanier Hall at Prince George Senior Secondary. It will also be on the church website at
