Prince George, B.C. – Later this morning, the Prince George Cougars will name who will take over as head coach.
The team has scheduled a news conference for 11:00 this morning.
Yesterday, Dean Clark was let go from the post as Head Coach. The Cougars have a record of 83-163-5-11 since Clark took over the helm in April of 2009.

What is the record since Dallas Thompson took over? That man has to go. I will not go to another game as long as he is the GM unless I am in another WHL City.
His record is 8 out of 10 sub .500 seasons in the past 10 years, out of the playoffs 5 of 10, never made it past the 1st round except for once. Thompson is a fool whose time has well since past. Gotta go.
The coach question is easy I think; they’re just going to promote Becker to the job.
Of course, as has been pointed out, the GM is the larger part of the problem.
I believe Thompson took over as GM in 2004. Since the start of the 2004-05 season the Cougars record is 208-332-36
Fire Thompson. Get hockey people in there adn lets make Prince George the best place to play again instead of the worst.
Local ownership would help! The fans would come back if the owner actually cared ! That would filter down through the manager, then the coach ,then the players.
Replying to the headline “who will lead the Cougars?” who cares? Not me, not a hockey fan at all. I appreciate the fitness and finesse level of it as a sport but really don’t enjoy the hockey culture. Having said that, I do like that we have the WHL in our fair city as it does provide entertainment to those who like the game.
I concur with the rest of the voices here in that maybe, just maybe they should look at Dallas Thompson. He seems to be the common denominator.
I stand corrected…Mark Holick, who would have thought.
cougs: “Local ownership would help!”
Where the owner lives doesn’t matter.
