Another Bump in Gas Prices

Prince George, B.C.- Since lunchtime today, the price of a litre of regular gas in Prince George has climbed a further 4 cents a litre.
The day started off with the price at the pumps at 120.9 a full 6.2 cents higher than it had been yesterday.
Then, before you could say "holy price jump Batman" the price bumped up again, and is now sitting at 124.9 at stations in the 15th and Central block, the Petro Canada at 5th and Carney, the Shell stations at 5th and Carney and 5th and Tabor.
Others in the city are expected to increase as well.
According to Gasbuddy.com, there are still some bargain gas prices to be had in Prince George, check www.gasbuddy.com for the list of bargain sites in Prince George.

Midnight auto with a jerry can and siphon hose is starting to look like a real option to fill mine.
Just keep an eye out for someone coming up behind you with a Louisville Slugger.
8.9% overall increase…..disgusting.
Yet, one pays $2 for a litre of bottled water and doesn’t bat an eye…people have odd priorities, lol
I know an investor in oil. Every time he see’s the stock market increase he is yahooing all over the place. When he see’s the price of fuel at the pump increase he is still yahooing all over the place.
Don’t get me wrong, I have stock in oil companies too.
;)
I was a realtor for three years and as such I was subject to certain trade rules governing price fixing. It was called collusion and is against the law in Canada. Bearing this in mind I cannot believe those tasked with the oversight of consumer goods can “overlook” this type of activity. If the stations at 15th & central adjust their prices at the same time it could be overlooked but when stations throughout the city change at the same time it points to something bigger. It is impossible that the price can rise in unison when the gas stations in question are not able to see one another. If they are conspiring with one another why are they being allowed to continue operating. Who is responsible for this “oversight” and just how much are they getting paid to not pursue the truth?
Once I asked an attendant at the 5th and Carney Shell what makes him to adjust the gas price.
When the Petro station across the street raises its prices, he said, I notify my head office in Vancouver and they tell me to match the price.
Fill up while you can. Canadian Tire will stay at 120.9 till closing ;)
I guess the $6.67 billion (US) fourth quarter net profit that Shell just announced isn’t big enough…..
Get rid of the penny…and look what happens.
I guess this is the result of supply and demand?
Just wait till that pipeline goes through eh JohnnyB?
“Yet, one pays $2 for a litre of bottled water and doesn’t bat an eye…people have odd priorities, lol” . last time I looked, you didn’t need bottled water to get to work or get around.
Talked to the butcher in Costco. He said, “soon”.
“Who is responsible for this “oversight” and just how much are they getting paid to not pursue the truth?”
Follow the money!
“he said, I notify my head office in Vancouver and they tell me to match the price.”
So whats stopping you from calling them a week later?
Just filled up in Omak Wash. just across the border & after $ conversion & gal. to litre works out to 80.6 cents a litre.
I was also travelling south today. Filled up in PG Thursday night after checking GasBuddy to see how Canuck prices were doing on the trip. $1.14 whatever in Cache creek was the cheapest. When I got there this afternoon, there were several prices, including $1.09whatever at a couple of stations. Further on prices got higher into the same as PG today.
Cheapest in the northwest part of the state is around $3.37/us gal. which works out to about 89 cents per litre.
So why did no one announce the recent drop to $1.14 something? Maybe I missed that?
I swear I want to kick some people….
Driving by 15th and Central – Chevron is still at 120 and Esso across the street is 124. No one fuelling at Chevron, 3 people at Esso. That is why competition doesn’t and won’t work in this town. It all comes from the same refinery people!!
Burns Lake was 1.09 today. Prices were as low as 1.14 on the way to 100 mile.
