Prince George, BC – Prince George Regional Provincial Traffic Services is seeking help from the public as officers continue to investigate the multi-vehicle collision that claimed the life of a truck driver on Highway 97 North near Hixon one week ago.

Last Monday’s crash involved a northbound semi-B train carrying lumber, an empty tractor-trailer unit heading south, and two pick-up trucks.  Two other southbound commercial trucks hit the ditch to avoid the crash scene which occurred near Woodpecker on a stretch of highway known locally as ‘Microwave Hill’.

53-year-old Balwinder Singh Gill was the driver and lone occupant of the empty tractor-trailer unit.  He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.  Three others were transported to hospital.

Corporal Madonna Saunderson says police would like to speak with anyone who may have seen the crash occur, or who came upon the scen after the collision had taken place.

Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is asked to call Cpl Saunderson at 250-649-4004.

Wow. Forensics aren’t enough to cast blame, now you have rely upon “eye-witness” testimony to close the books? The only people that saw what happened are either hurt or dead. Leave it alone.

Sounds like they obviously have some questions that eye witnesses could provide answers to. They are trying to draw from all resources to get a complete as possible picture of what happened.
Smart police work.
