The annual event runs for three weeks, offering a wide variety of activities for everyone. And it kicks off on a long weekend this year as B.C. celebrates its first Family Day holiday on Monday. The big event tonight is the Mr. Prince George pageant at the Coast Inn of the North, starting at 7pm. As well there’s a “No Limit Texas Hold “Em” tournament starting at 5pm at the Days Inn Hotel. This is also the night the All Weather Fools Athletic Club runs its O.T.L. hospitality night at the Kinsmen Community Complex. OTL competition begins at 8 Saturday morning at Dillman field, west of town and continues Sunday.

Another big event Saturday is the Seniors Fun Fair Days Seniors Idol Contest. All contestants are 55 years of age and older and they’ll be challenging each other for prizes and trophies. That’s taking place at the Elder Citizens Recreation Centre, 1692 10th Avenue and begins at 7 Saturday night. The OTL dinner and dance goes at 6:30 Saturday night at the Civic Centre. Blues Prince George has Kenny Blues Boss Wayne and his band playing at the Kinsmen Community Complex and the Hart Pioneer Centre is holding its Valentine Country Dance from 8pm till midnight Saturday.

Sunday features Seniors Fun Fair Days from 10 am to 3pm. Call 250-962-9834 or 250-564-3737 for more information. The Seniors Activity Centre at 425 Brunswick Street has a great “Snow Daze Sunday Dinner” planned. Doors open at 4pm.

And of course Sunday also features the finals of the OTL tournament. That’s an 8am start at Dillman Field.

Mardi Gras Snow Daze Winter Festival runs through to February 24th.
