Uh…that wouldn’t have been that pretty well known house at the corner of 3rd and Gillette now, would it? Can’t imagine what they might have been after there.
Give more. Nice to see you know how to spell Gillette St.
Methinks that all these “crack houses” and gangster hideouts and flophouses and grow- op rental dumps should be painted a shade of orange after the perps have been convicted of almost anything. Pass a bylaw. Let the absentee landlords know they have to screen their tenants better. Maybe they would be more fussy who they rent to the first time. Subsequent tenants may shun “orange houses” as rental units as some misguided criminals/addicts persue a home invasion on following innocent renters. Seeing as how the NDP “may” be elected, make those houses orange with black trim in keeping with the dippers potential penchant for law and order. Then ask John Cougar Mellencamp to write a song about “Little Orange Houses”.
Palopu…if you go look at the street sign, they have spelled Gillett correctly…they aren’t talking about the razor here…
doubletrouble. Your right. Gillett St. was named after the first Prince George Mayor, WG Gillett.
Seems to me when I was younger it was spelled Gillette. I might be confused by the razer.
On the other hand I lived on Gillette St. for a number of years and could swear by the spelling. Maybe it was mispelled at some point and then corrected. Who knows?
My goodness, look at all the space and effort a letter “e” can take up and for what?
Maybe if they changed the name of the street to “Wilkinson”, would it be easier to spell?
Give more.
For what??? That little e, gave you an insight into some of the history of Prince George, such as the name of the first Mayor.
