"Emma is one of the top steeplechasers in Canada," says University of Idaho Director of Track and Field/Cross Country, Wayne Phipps, himself a former PGTF athlete.

"Knowing her hometown, I know the difficulties that they have training through the winter in adverse conditions more often than not, so I’m really impressed by her performances."

Balazs was one of Phipps’ first threee signees of the class of 2013.  She will join the team in 2013-14, as a freshman and follows in the footsteps of PGTF Alumni Bevin Kennelly, Josh Guggenheimer, Mandy McAlister, and Joel Alberts.
