Blue Jays Youth Camp Returns To Prince George

Wednesday, February 13, 2013 @ 5:06 PM
Prince George, B.C. – The Toronto Blue Jays Honda Super Camp is paying a return visit to Prince George, much to the delight of the World Baseball Challenge Society.

Four former Blue Jays players – Jesse Barfield, Lloyd Moseby, Homer Bush and head instructor Duane Ward – will be on hand to teach the skills of the game to youth baseball players during the second week of spring break, March 26th to 28th, at the Charles Jago Northern Sport Centre. This will be the second time the Blue Jays have brought the highly-regarded Honda Super Camp to Prince George. The first camp, which drew players from Alberta, was held in July 2011 just before the second World Baseball Challenge was held at Citizen Field.

WBC Society co-chair Shawn Rice says “We are so thankful to the Blue Jays, to Paul Beeston and Stephen Brooks, for their vision to bring the Blue Jays camps all across Canada, and that they have come to Prince George even once is proof of their commitment to growing the game.” Rice adds “We are proud to take care of the on-the-ground needs for this camp which will benefit youth baseball players in this region.”
