Prince George, B.C. – The YMCA of Northern B.C. is opening the doors to its Family Day Open House today.
Manager of Resource Development and Communications, Karen Cameron, says this is one of four such events being run this spring. The first was in January, and this one will be followed by similar events in March and April. Cameron says “It’s just to get families active and having fun and being healthy at the “Y”. She says the theme today is “I heart (love) my family”, “so it’s kind of a Valentines-family combination this month.”
Plenty of activities are lined up, including crafts, the Art Zone, Instant Toddler Play and gym activities such as basketball. There will be two draws, one for a three-month family membership, the other for an Aurora Leadership Program registration, which is the Y’s new teen summer camp program. The camp program is co-sponsored by True Sport, Prince George Community Foundation and the Ryan Shiels Memorial Fund.
The family-oriented open house runs from 12 to 3pm today at the Massey Drive location.
