Bell Ignites Games Volunteer Drive

Prince George, B.C. – Prince George-Mackenzie MLA Pat Bell is reminding Prince George residents to think back to the spirit of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver as they look two years down the road to the 2015 Canada Winter Games here.
Bell says “the spirit of that Olympics ignited a flame across the rest of British Columbia and across Canada, and the exact same thing can happen right here in Prince George. We can be the catalyst for that flame that will spread across British Columbia.” He says it’s the volunteers who create the ignition.
Bell says “two thousand of you have stepped up and said I want to volunteer for the games. That’s incredible. That’s the great news. The bad news is we need at least two-thousand-five-hundred more people to sign up in the next year. But I know there folks across Prince George and in Mackenzie, McBride, Vanderhoof and Fort St. James that are going to come and be part of the games.”
“Fifteen thousand people will be in this area two years from now, celebrating Prince George. Three hundred media outlets from every single part of Canada will be focusing their attention on this community for a period of a couple of weeks. It is an opportunity we have to grab. We have to take advantage of it and if we do it will bring the swagger back to northern British Columbia.”

What a blowhard. Couldn’t they dredge-up a more inspirational person to call for more volunteers. This guy is a shill on borrowed time. He knows it and we know it.
Styxxx is stuck. Why won`t he volunteer?
I wonder how much Bell is going to suck off the public teat when he retires?
Well the Liberals have put to be bed that tired old cliche, about “…rats leaving a sinking ship”.
In what clearly is a first, the rats have not only failed to leave the sinking ship, but now appear to be at the helm.
When you’re such a high-profile MLA, people are bound to take shots at you. Fact is, Pat Bell has been an excellent MLA and there are few who work harder than he does.
JohnnyBelt. Give us a break. Bell might have been good for some vested interests group, but he did diddly squat for the average Joe/Jane.
Maybe you could give us some indication of what he actually did for this riding.
There is a pulp mill running in Mackenzie because of Bell’s efforts …. kinda like what the NDP did with Skeena except …. well this one is running.
Average jane/joe needs to learn to do for themselves and quit looking at and blaming the govt for their shortfalls. Immigrants come to this province and think they found utopia while others born with those same rights lay around and bitch.
So Bell “ignites”. Well, let’s light him up and watch him go down in flames. This comment is not a bitch, just a hope of mine.
zigzag99. Its the average jane/joe that pays the taxes that pays Bell’s salary, and pays for everything the Government does.
I’m not blaming the Government for my shortfalls, I’m faulting the Government (and Pat Bell) for their shortfalls.
There is a Paper Mill in MacKenzie that closed down. Does Bell take credit for the closure??
We actually don’t know how much he was involved in the Purchase of the MacKenzie Mill by Asian interests, other than taxpayers paid to keep it running through the winter so it wouldn’t freeze up.
Bell & the Liberals gave over $80 BILLION to their friends with P3 contracts of guaranteed profits.
Your turn johnny.
