Economist Says Budget Projections Well Founded

Monday, February 18, 2013 @ 5:00 PM
Prince George, B.C.- An independent  review of the yet to be delivered Provincial budget is endorsing the economic and revenue projections in that document.
Dr. Tim O’Neil, a former chief economist with the Bank of Montreal,  notes  “After an examination of the economic and revenue forecasts planned for the Budget 2013 plan of the Government of British Columbia and the supporting documents that underpin those forecasts, the conclusion reached is that economic and revenue expectations are generally well‐founded.”

However, he cautioned the Province to make an adjustment when it comes to projections of revenue for natural gas “One specific revenue forecast, that for natural gas, warrants added caution and it is recommended that the natural gas price used for the revenue forecast be lowered to reflect that caution.”

The Ministry of Finance says it has made an adjustment to the budget to reflect that recommendation.

"Overall I was satisfied with the degree of prudence included in this budget” says O’Neill “It’s important to avoid excessive optimism in revenue projections when full-scale economic recovery has yet to take hold."

The budget will be delivered tomorrow.

LOL, excessive optimism, balanced budget, wow what is it?

Trust me. This used car (B.C.) was only driven by a litte old lady (C.C.) on Sunday’s.

Step right up my good man. Pop three balloons and win your girl a teddy bear.

Everyone wins a prize. Step right up.

By hiring O’Neil they are getting an early start on spinning the budget.

Everyone in the Province knows (or should know) that the Liberals have bankrupted us.

The 2010 Olympics, and the $500 Million Sea to Sky Highway comes to mind.

At least we got rid of the HST. That bankrupted many people too. Thanks to Bill and all the canvassers for the referendum. And the NDP too I should add. They gave us the recall act and we got to use it. Will be a great celebrations coming soon. April first then again may 14. Stupid LIEberals should a took the hint when we won the vote and got rid of HST then. Greedy pigs just had to screw us right to the last nickel they could get. Maybe some folks might vote for them maybe. But now the only ones gonna vote for them is the rich. Bye bye LIEberals. And bye bye HST.

Geez, maybe they should have had Dr. Tim check out the budget before the last provincial election. You remember, the one that was out by over $1,500,000,000. Can you say Fudge-it?

Not to mention the BC Hydro debt they’ve hidden through creative accounting.
