Morris Seeks Liberal Nomination
Prince George, B.C.- He has been the head of the Prince George-Mackenzie Liberal Riding Association for the past 5 years, and now, Mike Morris is seeking the support to become the riding’s Liberal candidate in the provincial election.
He is the first to formally throw his hat into the ring vying for the nod. The position has become vacant since MLA Pat Bell announced on Sunday he was withdrawing his name because of health concerns.
The Liberal Party has yet to detail the nomination period or when the nomination meeting will be held.
MLA Pat Bell says Morris has been very active in the riding "Mike has long been an advocate for the Trappers Association and is a real outdoors person. He has worked with the Riding Association for several years and would make a very good candidate."
Morris resigned from the post as Riding Association President on Monday to enable him to take the step into the political ring.

Congratulations Mike, with your integrity, you’ll do well.
Mike would be a good candidate. However it is my opinion that he is just a patsy. The liberals have a history of appointing their candidtes (at least if you are christy clarks friend) This whole nomination race is an attempt to get some media attention for the real candidte who will likely be Lyn Hall or Don Zurowski. Mike is a good man who deserves better than this.
Thats just this mans opinion!
I also hear rumblings that the Conservatives will have candidates in Vanderhoof, both PG ridings and quesnel.
If that is the case anyone thinking of a liberal run might think twice about a run.
They will likely not win.
What’s his background besides what is written above?
Baaa humbug, drop them all on there head and start over. To much BS from libs, time is up.
Baaa humbug, the ndp have no integrity left!
like buying a losing lotto tq…..
I like Mike!
Mike deserves a real chance at this nomination. Lyn hall is way to wishy washy to win a real provincial election, I prefer someone who can make a descision.
Go Mike!
I wonder what his position is on decriminalizing marijuana? Being a former superintendent one can assume he’s all for buying armored personal carriers to patrol the VLA with? Would be interesting to hear his position on an issue like that.
That said for someone actively in the wings for the nomination for five years now, he sure gives an obtuse answer of party approved generalities without hinting much at how he arrives at his own position. IMO that could seriously negate his extensive experience in leadership.
If I were to vote for the person with the greatest love of the area and the capability to follow through, it would be Mr. Morris. A very honest and responsible guy.
Before Mr. Morris buys armored personal carriers and heads for the hood to hunt down the drug lords, he could start by going to PG Council Chambers and laying a few fraud charges. The lies told during campaign for personal gain are of such magnitude that they warrant fraud charges. What I see and hear today, and what I clearly seen and heard during campaigns are like night and day. Utter fraud and deception. The two worst things in life are liars and thiefs. The ones who lied to the public and stole their trust should face true justice.
