PG Night On Parliament Hill

Monday, February 25, 2013 @ 3:51 AM

Prince George, BC – This coming Wednesday evening will find Prince George taking a spotlight on Parliament Hill in Ottawa…

A contingent from Prince George, including Mayor Shari Green and Initiatives Prince George CEO Heather Oland, is travelling to the nation’s capital for meetings.  Hence, the idea to host an evening to celebrate the city.

Prince George-Peace River MP, Bob Zimmer, Cariboo-Prince George MP, Dick Harris, and the City of Prince George are co-hosting the evening reception in the Parliamentary Dining Room.

An invitation has been sent to all BC MPs, Senators, and to all Ministers inviting them to hear what Mayor Green has to say about the "remarkable growth and progress of this city in northern British Columbia".

Progress what progress it’s falling apart. The roads suck we are the crime capital of Canada air sucks, everyone’s on puffers and our mayor an council are throwing money away on useless junk. I would be embarrassed to do that in front of parliament.

Would like to know what this night is costing the tax payers of PG?

“hear what Mayor Green has to say about the “remarkable growth and progress of this city in northern British Columbia”.”

LOL ….

Hey, NMG, get yourself invited and ask some good questions …

REMARKABLE alright.

Somebody quick, call McLeans magazine and let them know that a couple of Prince George criminals will be running around Ottawa.

Great chance for a newspaper to do some in-depth reporting here. Listen to what she says and then come here to see the actuality of what is said.

Haha, middle finger, no kidding!

Mayor Green must have been smoking some of the finest PG can offer.I can’t believe the bull@##$ these people pull off while in office!

A contingent from Pr George including Greene, and Oland. Wonder who else is going.

In addition since we already have two Members of Parliament from this area. Zimmer, and Harris, why is it necessary to hold the meeting in Ottawa??? Could it not be held here??

What is the nature of the meeting. Is it something critical?? Are other Cities in Canada having meetings, or just Prince George.??

Is Oland just a travelling companion of the Mayor???

Hopefully we will get some insight into this meeting with a view of determining if our money is well spent.

Maybe Brian can get us the info. Oh wait, Mayor Green doesn’t like Brian!!

“Hey, NMG, get yourself invited and ask some good questions …”

LMAO!!!! This is just too good. I’m fairly confident in predicting three things related to this trip:

1) Nobody in Ottawa will care;
2) The contingent will be spewing a bunch of fluff to people who have at least a thousand other more serious issues to contend with and;
3) The entourage will likely head down to the ByWard Market afterwards and PG taxpayers will be on the hook for great food and micro brews.

I’m actually surprised they didn’t time their visit to sync up with Winterlude, the Ottawa Boat Show or the Sexapalooza event. At least that may have given them some ideas to take back to PG . . .

It’s too bad it wasn’t a public event, with an open Q&A period. I’m sure the crowd would love to hear from a lifelong PG resident to provide some additional insight into the messages being provided. I’ll keep my ear to the slushy ground and see if local media picks anything up. Don’t hold your breath, LOL.

Sexapalooza ? I gotta check this out !
