Volunteer Award Deadline Approaches

Saturday, March 2, 2013 @ 5:21 AM
Prince George, B.C. – The deadline is fast approaching for submitting nominations for the City’s Volunteer Appreciation and Youth of the Year awards. In fact, the deadline is Monday.

Each year the City of Prince George recognizes citizens who make significant contributions to the community and its residents.   Several awards are handed out to those outstanding people at the Civic Appreciation Dinner, which this year is being held on April 27th. There are four awards: Recreation and Culture, Community Service, Youth of the Year Award and Outstanding Volunteer.

If you know of someone who has made a big difference in volunteering their time, you can pick up a Nomination Package at City Hall or go to: www.princegeorge.ca click City Living>Civic Appreciation.

The nomination deadline is 4:30pm Monday, March 4th, 2013.

Is there a list somwhere of past recipients?

The city of full of worthy volunteers that do so very very much for, well, nothing other than to contribute to a passion, a cause and to make our community better. Kudos to them. Unfortunately, and I know we are supposed to not be debbie downers and full of sunshine here in PG despite our crappy council of representatives – having these awards handed out with this bunch behind it, in particular our Mayor and her pet you-know-who, well it would be a farce.
