Minor Injuries in Bus Rollover Near Dome Creek

McBride, B.C. – McBride RCMP and the Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement Team are investigating a motor vehicle incident involving a Greyhound bus late Saturday night.

Emergency Crews were called to a Motor Vehicle Incident around 11:45pm on Highway 16 East near Dome Creek.

A Greyhound Bus carrying 18 passengers was traveling east when the driver lost control. The bus  skidded off the highway, rolling onto its side down an embankment. Three passengers suffered minor injuries. Two of them were taken to the McBride Hospital for medical attention. With the assistance of the Yellowhead Highway Road and Bridge work crew, the remaining passengers were taken to the Slim Creek Highway Work Yard while they waited for a second Greyhound bus to continue their journey.

McBride RCMP and the Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement Team continue to investigate the roll over. A mechanical inspection of the bus will be part of the investigation.

Police advise that poor weather conditions may have played a factor as it was snowing heavily at the time of the incident.
