Prince George, B.C. – Once again, the Blue Jays Baseball Academy will be coming to Prince George for one of 17 Blue Jays Honda Super camps to be held across the country.
Thanks to the World Baseball Challenge Society, Former Blue Jays Duane Ward, Lloyd Moseby, Jesse Barfield and Homer Bush will be coming to the Northern Sports Centre to conduct a three day instructional baseball camp March 26th through to the 28th.
This is the third season of the Super Camps “We are very pleased to continue our partnership with Baseball Canada and promote participation in the game of baseball across Canada” says Stephen Brooks, Senior Vice-President, Business Operations, Toronto Blue Jays.
“The partnership has allowed the Blue Jays and Baseball Canada to provide kids across the country with a level of instruction they can find nowhere else. Together we continue to encourage the growth of the game of baseball in this country” adds Brooks.
The camp costs $230 per child and is open to kids aged 9-16. Registration is already available for the Prince George camp (click here) but only the first 150 participants will be accepted. To make sure everyone has an opportunity, the Jays will donate registration fees for a select number of kids to ensure there are no financial barriers.
Participants will each receive a Blue Jays hat and t-shirt, as well as a Blue Jays Baseball Academy Instructional Manual.
The timing of the camp is perfect, as Prince George prepares to host the B.C. Minor Baseball Association’s Peewee AAA Provincial Championship in August. It is set for August, and is an event also made possible through the support of the World Baseball Challenge Society.
