Suspicious Incidents at Horse Stables

Thursday, March 7, 2013 @ 4:32 PM

Prince George, B.C.- RCMP   are advising  people to be   aware of their surroundings, and  report any suspicious persons who may be  in the area around the horse stables at the Agriplex on the Prince George Exhiition grounds.

Police report that  Saturday evening, two 12 year old girls were working in the stables on the Agriplex grounds when they encountered an unknown male. The girls became scared and ran away. They called a parent, who called police. The man fled the area and was not located by police. The man was described as:

  • 20 to 30 years old
  • Wearing a grey pullover sweater and blue jeans

Through investigation, the Prince George RCMP have found this is not the only  case  of this type  near the stables.
There have been three other incidents of suspicious persons observed near the stables dating back to mid-February. Only one of the three was reported to police. In one situation an adult female was temporarily surrounded by two unknown males.

The Prince George RCMP would like to advise all users of the Agriplex grounds to be cautious of unknown persons, especially after dark. Although the grounds are for public use, suspicious persons with no clear purpose to be there should be reported to police. Whenever possible, avoid attending this area alone.

Anyone with information  on these incidents, or who may be responsible, is asked to contact Prince George RCMP at (250)561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1(800)222-8477, online at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca (English only), or Text-A-Tip to CRIMES (274637) using keyword "pgtips".

Someone could be homeless. A stable my guess could be warm, dry and quiet. Not everybody is out to hurt people.

ProCannabis, while I agree that not everybody is out to hurt people, I wonder if that thought went through the mind of the adult female that ws temporarily surrounded by two unknown males. Better to be safe than sorry!

Pro cannabis if that was your daughter , would you still think such charitable thoughts? I find that idea just a bit absurd.

ProCannabis, you obviously aren’t female. I’m wary of men when by myself in an isolated area – and the stables are definitely that. It is sad that this is where the world is at, but can’t be too safe now.

Well I have a 14yr daughter and if I was that concerned, I would be there with her. Cant send out a man hunt due to seeing a random person. Did he say anything to the girls? Just says unknown. Lets not judge too early.

bonneville, I don’t need to be insulted.

Men should be aware that if they approach a lone female at night, or a couple of them, that they are doing something unacceptable, even if they intend no harm. They can ask questions from a distance. Also, teens should not be left alone at night outside with access from any direction!! I realize the parents and girls don’t think anything would happen to them, but it can and eventually will! Predators don’t care and smart men should know better. Seriously!!!!

Well of course. I was just suggesting it could of been a homeless person. I was homeless and a stable would be a good place to go sleep. I sure as hell won’t be going to a place like that now if I was homeless again. I sure as hell would not want some teenage girl calling police saying a dude was being a skinner towards her.
