Air Clears

Saturday, March 9, 2013 @ 11:10 AM

Prince George, BC – Prince George residents can all breathe a little easier – literally.

The Ministry of Environment has ended the dust advisory that has been in place since Wednesday.

Air Quality Meteorologist, Dennis Fudge, says even though the 24-hour rolling average for coarse particulate is still above the provincial average, the hourly values are expected to remain low for most of the day and the 24-hour level is expected to drop below the prescribed 50 µg/m3 later today.

Fudge says the high levels of coarse particulate recorded at the city’s monitoring sites during this advisory were mainly due to road dust in the bowl.

More information on particulate matter levels is available on the Ministry’s website at www.bcairquality.ca

Air quality is at 2.5 at 13 , pm10 at 52 at Plaza 400. That this is all created by road dust is highly unlikely. Why dont we have an air monitoring station in the residential area of the Ciy. Namely in the bowl.
Cheers
