Prince George, BC –  Prince George Fire Rescue Crews from three halls responded to a fire at Wendy’s Restaurant in the 900-block of Central Street earlier this morning.

Assistant Fire Chief, Drew Larsen, says 16 firefighters and four fire apparatus responded to the blaze just after 1am this morning.

Larsen says all employees had been safely evacuated, with no injuries, by the time Fire Rescue arrived.  There was light smoke billowing from the restaurant and crews found a grease fire burning in a deep fat fryer.

The assistant fire chief says fire suppression was accomplished quickly and the smoke was ventilated from the building, but there was water, smoke and fire damage to the kitchen, estimated at $40-thousand dollars.  Crews remained on-scene for about two-and-a-half hours.

Larsen says the fire has been ruled accidental.
