BC Gov’t Jobs Fairs Hit Region This Week
Prince George, BC – The provincial government’s BC Jobs Start Here fairs roll through the region this week – stopping in Quesnel tomorrow and Prince George on Thursday, before moving on to the northwest region next week.
The initiative began last fall with stops throughout the region at that time, and has been winding back through many of the same communities since the end of January. In total, jobs fairs will have been held in 47 communities at a cost of approximately 1.7-million dollars.
Tomorrow’s day-long event in the Atrium at Quesnel’s CNC campus on Northstar Road will feature 11 employers, including the locally founded Pinnacle Renewable Energy Group, West Fraser, Quigley Contracting, and Rockwater Energy Solutions. There will also be six exhibitors on-hand, along with a new skills training booth.
Minister of Jobs, Tourism, and Skills Training, Pat Bell, says, "Whether they are looking for a new job, a better job, or any job, attendees will be able to find the information they need on job trends, career development and skills training in BC."
Thursday’s fair at the Coast Inn of the North in Prince George has 24 employers scheduled to attend and will run from 11am until 6pm.
