Friday Free For All – March 15th, 2013
Friday, March 15, 2013 @ 12:00 AM
Half way through March, and there are many who are hoping we have seen the last blast of winter.
So, what’s on your mind? It is time to share those thoughts, here on the FRIDAY FREE FOR ALL.
You pick the topic, but stay within the basic rules:
Keep it clean
Keep it Legal
No bullying of other posters.
Comments
Have a great Friday everyone.
A lot of people in this city believe that we have the worst roads in the province and while I do agree that our roads require work people have to understand where we live and understand how potholes are formed.
First off we live in the centre of the province right next to an inland temperate rainforest meaning the weather changes a lot warm, cold, wet, dry we get it all unlike most other areas of the province where weather tends to be more steady like the okanagan or Scamloops where temperatures remain relatively mild in the winter. In Prince George we get bitterly cold to above zero temperatures often in the same week and even on the same day especially from the months of Feb-April. This plays havoc on the roads as snow melts then trickles through the pavement then freezes at night causes water to turn to ice which expands in the pavement starting the creatation of a pothole.
Scamloops, Kelowna, Hongcouver and other larger centres have pothole issues but not to the extent that we do because their weather tends to be more constant and generally more mild meaning better roads their roads do not go through the same freeze thaw cycle ours do meaning less wear and tear on their infrastructure.
Yes the city has been lacking in maintaining the infrastructure of the city and they must share a good portion of the blame(instead of wasting our money on the downtown core and green energy crap it could of been better spent elsewhere) but also blame must be placed on nature and where we live it created a so called perfect storm that causes us so much grief driving the city streets.
For left lane users,

The crews did a good job cleaning the highways off last night, much better than the last big snowfall we had. Good job!!
How about the BC Liberals, they should be ashamed at allowing our tax resources to be used for Liberal business…the election cannot come soon enough.
How about the BC NDP, they should be ashamed at allowing our tax resources to be used for NDP business…the election cannot come soon enough.
Isn’t the NDP scheme allowing riding resources to be shared a bit overshadowed by the sins of the Liberals?
And we seem to be overlooking the Crime of the Century; the sale of BCR, a valuable resource of the Province, in a sleazy, criminal operation.
If you think things are slippery in Prince George, just look to the Legislature.
Bingo gate, ferry gate, Pine Beetle gate, Dix gates……..
Keeping right is a courtesy!
Pot holes…….and that is why they should be spending more on maintaining the roads! Fills the cracks when they form will keep the water out. The new pavement on Ospika needs crack filling already. If you don’t wash that shiney new car it will surely rust!
PS
Speeding is worse than left lane hoggers acrider54.
Please people, take the extra 5 minutes before you leave your driveway to clean all the snow off your vehicle.
To the lady who cut me off this morning when you were supposed to YIELD coming out of the mall onto the highway, this especially applies to you – how the heck are you supposed to see me when only your windshield is clear of snow, and even then only because you turned your wipers on?!? You’re lucky I had a feeling that’s what was going to happen and I was ready to brake – and a big thank you to the truck behind me who saw what was happening and also backed off and didn’t rear end me!
Happy Friday to one and all!
Happy also to see that so far no one has written in to crow about the preposterous idea of climate change, because, hey! look at all the snow!
Anyone else disturbed at the idea that home deaths will no longer lead to an automatic autopsy unless the family want to pay for it? I don’t think the Liberals thought this one through, but then what else is new?
I really don’t know what to do when it comes time to vote in May. How does one choose?
The Liberals are lying thieving sleazes. There is no other PC way to put it. This ethnic vote mess is just the icing on the cake. And be honest, they are not Liberals. They are Social Credit wolves in sheep’s clothing.
The NDP are not much different. Their the ones with police raiding their offices in the past. They obviously didn’t learn and didn’t clean house with respect to who is in the Party. Dix has no business even being in politics, let alone leading the party.
So what does that leave? The Conservatives? Don’t make me laugh. Every service you hold precious would be stripped away by these clowns.
The Greens? Do they even have a political platform? If they did it would be made of soy.
It all makes for a grumpy voter. Instead of voting for a fresh start, I’m having to choose who’s political body odour is the least offensive.
“Keeping right is a courtesy! “
“Keep Right Except to Pass” and “Slower Traffic Keep Right” aren’t just fancy slogans painted on some signs; they are the law.
“Speeding is worse than left lane hoggers”
How do you figure that? If I can control my vehicle while doing 80 on the Hart headed in to town how is that possibly worse then some mouth breather puttering away in the left lane blocking dozens of people?
Anyhow, no point in this discussion; the only way people will change this behavior will be by getting the occasional ticket.
How ’bout that weather eh? I was thinking we might actually get a Spring this year. Silly me.

I really don’t know what to do when it comes time to vote in May. How does one choose?
——————–
Tough decision isn’t it? If Pat Bell was still running I wouldn’t hesitate to vote for him since I think he’s been good for and to us. I don’t know anything about his replacement though so I can’t vote for him just because he’s Pat’s replacement.
As long as Moe and Adrian are running the NDP I can’t vote for them. Fool me once, shame on you and all that jazz.
The conservatives? No way Jose. Cummins is a relic who should just retire and enjoy his pension. Besides, parachute candidates are just insulting.
“Isn’t the NDP scheme allowing riding resources to be shared a bit overshadowed by the sins of the Liberals?”
Yes, and in addition to that, the way it has been presented by the Liberals is deliberately distorted to make something appear to be improper when it was done under the authority of the Legislative Comptroller. For some facts on this issue, please read the items below. Fundamentally, the Liberal Party has no credible response to charges of corruption and misuse of public funds so is trying to drag the NDP into it in order to deflect taking full responsibility.

Sorry, there was supposed to be a third one, but it turns out I can’t locate it.
I agree axman… I think an insurgency campaign in PG North by a viable candidate would stand a good chance. Its shaping up to be another election with no options and probably lower turnout.
Did anyone feel the earth move at around 1:30 this morning? No……Really.
to those who feel that they have the need to tailgate me in an attempt to intimidate so I will move to the right when I am already over the speed limit, rest assured that you will continue to be #1 in my book. If you are in such a hurry, either move closer to work or get up earlier. Remember, your “need for speed” is not my problem. Back off.
Have a great weekend and slow down to enjoy life. :)
The NDP was in essence taxing the ridings where they held a seat 200 bucks a month to use for partisan purposes. So if you were unfortunate enough to live in an NDP riding $2400 a year was not spent to the benefit of local taxpayers as intended.
Sign of things to come, they did not have the power to tax you for the last decade so taxed themselves instead….hold on to your wallets come May as this guy is left of Hugo Chavez, bunch of Dix:)
I think YRB should lose their contract for PG North. The road condition the last few days on 97 North have been atrocious. Huge accumulations of snow on the road and upwards of a foot and a half on the shoulders… no road grit at all put down on the areas of bad ice for over a day… its just unacceptable.
CRA does a fantastic job in the Pine Pass with worse conditions, so its definitely an issue with YRB management of resources.
The question I have is what is the status of our road inspectors? Do we even have those anymore or was that privatized and downsized as well. What was the level of inspectors under government operation as opposed to privatized operations?
Surely we don’t have road inspectors anymore when YRB is allowed to run their operations the way they do and still collect payment for services not rendered.
when we talk about the upcoming election, let us not forget that our premier has cycled through a number of communication directors and for the most part, shuffled them off to high paying jobs in the civil service when they offended her rather than fire them except for the guy from Alberta that was caught behaving ‘inappropriatly towards an aide’ and left to go home even though there was no record of any kind of the ‘thorough investigation’ that was supposely conducted by her office into his behaviour. It is well known within the civil service that no one, including cabinet ministers, are supposed to issue any statement or speak to the media without having the specific approval of the premiers office communications staff. Government of one!
Here is the third one, the first half of:
http://alexgtsakumis.com/2013/03/14/major-scandal-speaker-bill-barisoff-should-resign-in-disgrace-auditor-general-john-doyle-flags-660000-in-hidden-payments-approved-by-the-speaker/
If anyone thinks that the premier did not know anything about the ethnic plan, I have some ocean view property in Arizona for sale. What arrogance she shows by her comments, she must think the people of BC are either just stupid or sheep who will believe any crap that she spews. Can’t wait for May 14.

Ah yes…that ubiquitous sense of entitlement. This is my lane and I’m not budging!
Pylot Project:- “And be honest, they are not Liberals. They are Social Credit wolves in sheep’s clothing.”
——————————————-
No, they’re Liberal wolves in Liberal clothing. That’s the only thing ‘honest’ about them ~ their moniker. They’re same brand of Liberals we’ve always had in control of the BC Liberal Party. As Gordon Wilson, and long before him, Duff Pattulo, found out.
They borrowed the Social Credit name in a reverse takeover which saw most of the former Liberal MLAs (all from the Greater Vancouver area) become pseudo-Socreds, because at that time, (around 1974), Social Credit was the most marketable label-of-convenience for them to get into office under.
And they proceeded to ruin the Social Credit Movement from within. Now they’re back to calling themselves what they’ve really been all along ~ BC Liberals. And hopefully they’ll get thrown out on their ears come May, and any other Parties they might want to infect in future will have enough sense to keep them out.
I understand that the so-called “partisan purposes”, Lonesome Sparrow, were primarily translations between English and Chinese. According to what was said in the Legislature, in at least one case it facilitated the laying of criminal charges in Canada, a point you “accidentally” missed. Now isn’t that partisan, translating stuff so constituents can be more easily served! Regardless, the practice followed was approved by the Legislature Comptroller and the dispersal of funds carried out by him.
In other words, it was not a secret, it was officially approved, it worked for the benefit of BC residents.
Categorizing it as a tax is just plain ridiculous. Still, shills do that.
If one of your big driving complaints is that people tailgate you, that’s everyone’s way of telling you you drive like a grandma.
Which of these scandles is worse?
NDP: taking $200 a month from their constituency offices for partisan and other purposes WITH full authorization from the legislative comptroller. This was done with full knowledge of all NDP MLAs and their offices.
Liberals: Using tax revenue for purely partisan purposes. Using private e-mails to avoid access to information requests. Getting civil servants to work on clearly partisan projects, while getting paid from their respective ministries. This was all done behind closed doors.
Those involved have resigned with no severance unlike Dix who got $70,000.00 when he was forced to resign after being convicted of forging documents in a criminal investigation.
Jim Flaherty has announced he is going to crack down and root out tax cheats….have not heard from mattyc for a while….coincidence?
Tax is defined as “A compulsory contribution “
if it walks like a duck.
Coincodence?????
Dream on HST lover. Mattyc aint gone anywhere. Just sitting here waiting for the HST to be EXTINGUISHED. Just thought iI be nice to y’all and sit it out a couple weeks. Just did a road trip last week in the nice weather.
Soon the HST will be EXTINGUISHED. As will ALL LIE-berals in BC.
“Ah yes…that ubiquitous sense of entitlement. This is my lane and I’m not budging!”
“If one of your big driving complaints is that people tailgate you, that’s everyone’s way of telling you you drive like a grandma.”
lmao those are great, thanks folks
hahaha
Like the guy in the white Honda on Tuesday after work that sat in the left lane from the North Scales holding up literally dozens of cars. But he turned left at Chief lake road so I guess he had to be ready eh?
Heres a hint – if you look in your mirror and see a dozen sets of headlights and there is no one in front of you YOU ARE A PROBLEM. No matter how high and mighty you might feel you are creating a larger traffic hazzard than someone driving a few cliks over the limit.
I was just wondering if maybe next years more money could be put in the snow clearing budget and a whole lot less in the trip to China budget. That way at the end of the season the city won’t have to whine about how much this has cost them. Just in case they have forgotten we are a city in the area of the province than can see a whole load of snow. Just because the last couple of years have been less, does not mean it will be that way every year. Stay home in Prince George and do your China business by phone or Skype that way there will be more money for the necessary things in our own city.
Thank you and have another nice snowy day.
I’m going, in another direction. We have just recently aquired a new Manager for our City. And is she adozzie. Our new manger has a Masters Degree in Political Sience. Wonder how that fits for the operation of our City.
Here is the first line on Wicapedia that describes the Knowlegde of a Masters in Political Sience:
A discipline concerned with the study of the state, government, and politics.
Cheers
At a BC Hydro Site C Clean Energy Project meeting with Regional and Local Governments in Chetwynd, BC September 21,2011. D. Cobb, the (then) CEO of Hydro was asked how much debt BC Hydro is carrying. D Cobb responded that it is $12 Billion. No doubt it is around $13 Billion now. How many other Government entities are up to their … in debt??
Poor Fiberals. Victims of their own greed and corruption. Come on now all you holier than thou Liberals; which of the 10 Commandments says ” Thou shalt not steal”? Or how about the one that says “Thou shalt not tell a lie”?????
Have you heard of a “speed limit”? This is supposed to have been calculated by people who know how fast traffic can travel safely.
If you want to speed, pass me when it is safe. Otherwise, don’t bitch if I am driving with care.
By the way, did any of you skip school when they covered English spelling?
Politics in BC is a national disgrace. We are damned if we do and damned if we don’t.
I believe that if people want to send a message to the Liberals and NDP, that we are sick and tired of how they operate in this Province, then we have no choice but to vote for the alternatives. We know that the alternatives will not form the Government, but with any luck we just might get close to a coalition.
So. What are the alternatives. Conservatives, Independents, Greens, other.
At the very least if the alternatives get a huge number of votes, then a message has been sent, and perhaps we will have a chance for a better Government in the following election.
To continue to support the present parties, ie; Liberals and NDP is not going to solve any problems, and will just get us more of the same.
We the voters of BC have some responsibility to effect some changes.
Old quotation.
**It is not enough to want to change, it is not enough to need to change, one must experience change.**
If we do nothing, nothing changes.
sard: “Poor Fiberals. Victims of their own greed and corruption. Come on now all you holier than thou Liberals; which of the 10 Commandments says ” Thou shalt not steal”? Or how about the one that says “Thou shalt not tell a lie”?????”
You might ask your hero, Adrian Dix that same question and see what he tells you. See if he mentions anything about skytrains or memos.
People who drive like grandmas generally don’t like it when that is pointed out to them. If you’re always being tailgated, you are the problem.
Yes PG Guy, house thumped twice with a weird noise. Thought the roof had collapsed.
http://sense.bc.ca/research.htm
Here is good discussion paper/graphs that asks the question – does speed kill.
Lots of things to ponder at this site.
…and I still can’t figure out how to include a link in this window…I don’t understand the [url] thing.
Why do we have pay parking at our hospital? Isn’t it bad enough that half the time they cannot fix you if your injured? Being sent home with broken legs here in PG, I wonder if this happens in the LML too?? That must be why the BC Luberals give you bus rides to Vancouver for medical treatment? Spent all the money on TV ads cannot afford plane tickets.
Those big $300,000 signs heading out of town are pretty good, they say to check drivebc.ca to check the road conditions….then they can ticket you for distracted driving…..
If you constantly drive the speed limit, you will be constantly tail-gated, Grandma, Grandpa or whatever.
Funny how everyone always thinks they’re the best driver on the road. If a survey was done on a scale of 1 – 10, my guess is that everyone would rate themselves 8,9, or 10.
“If you constantly drive the speed limit, you will be constantly tail-gated”
Only if youre in the left line, ignoring all of the “keep right except to pass signs” ;)
For those following the Vanderhhoof pool referendum, here are a couple of interesting numbers from the vote.
SPOILED BALLOTS”
Vanderhoof – .39% of ballots ‘spoiled’
Cluculz Lake- 2.0% of ballots ‘spoiled’
Mail in votes- 9.94% of ballots ‘spoiled’
Fair democratic process??
Jim: “Why do we have pay parking at our hospital?”
I’m guessing it’s because the parking lot costs money to maintain/upkeep. You either get the money out of the people using the lot or you get it in some other way. Proposals?
ACRIDER54, I have an idea. Why don’t you post on here when you are going to be on the Hart Hwy,how long you you expect it will take you and we can all stay off the road until we see that the left lane is clear and you have gone by. Then I can make a safe left turn when I get to my turn off.
I have on numerous occasions been doing the speed limit in the slow lane as you call it and traffic blowing by me on the left(Speeding).Just yesterday in the snow vehicles blowing by me in the left lane with no concern for road conditions. But they were driving 4×4.
That makes then indestructable but they are good drivers. Right. HA
tdiguy: “For those following the Vanderhhoof pool referendum, here are a couple of interesting numbers from the vote.

And your point is?…
Hmmm, as usual Dearth has something very long winded and boring to go on about. Thanks for the lesson on potholes. Very enlightening. Almost as entertaining as your stunning recount of how many cars go through an intersection, with you creepishly observing from the curb. Ick
JohnnyBelt – “People who drive like grandmas generally don’t like it when that is pointed out to them. If you’re always being tailgated, you are the problem”
I am driving down the Hart, heading downtown, around 6:00 AM on a Sunday. I am in the right hand lane, doing the speed limit. There is one other car heading into town. Right on my bumper. Nobody in the left lane to prevent them passing me. According to you, I am the problem?
Its unfortunate that people can not do their own research when it comes to politics. They just follow the media like a herd of sheep.
The NDP was not as bad as some of you think. The right wing media just ripped them to pieces. There is absolutely no comparison between the bad government of the liberals today and the NDP when they were in power. All we ever hear is about the fast ferries.
The ferries were built in a Vancouver shipyard by our own people that got wages and paid taxes. Where are we now building our ferries? In Germany with all the revenue going off shore. And instead of refitting the ferries we gave them away to the Americans who sold them and on last report some of those same ferries are still operating in foreign waters (middle east).
The idea that a minority government will give us good government is some what flawed. People have short memories when it comes to minority government. Most of the time is spent bickering over unimportant issues and the bureaucrats take over And we just head for the rhubarb
Cheers

You’re in the correct lane; I don’t think anyone has mentioned that as an issue.
You took the quote out of context.
Some people think they are only allowed to turn left at an intersection when the left turn arrow is on. And if you are the car behind and you get out of your car to inform the person who did not turn left that they are allowed to turn left on a green light, they reply, “I was afraid of the onoming traffic.” I understand.
PGguy1234 I heard a rumble about that time. There was a an earthquake near the Charlottes at that time.

Why do we have pay parking at our hospital?
—————————-
Because you’re using it? Do you want me to come down and pay for you?
Hey my wife is a Grandma, bet none of you guys could keep up to her.
Left lane hog, ever try that on a sidewalk? Most likely would get a fist in the back of the head. Hogs like that are brave while in their cages.
A person who drives on a four lane highway in the RH lane at the posted speed is the “problem” when she/he becomes a target for relentless tailgating by some impatient idiot? The legal term is trying to coerce another person into breaking the law!
Unbelievable!

Canada has fallen five places since 2007.
I remember that Canada occupied first place for a number of consecutive years during the pre-Harper era.
Here is some information on another fiberals scam, carbon tax, that the NDP most likely will keep for the greenie vote.
12 March: Globe & Mail, Canada: Margaret Wente: Carbon offsets: B.C.âs looniest green scheme yet? Add to â¦
Every public institution is now required to pay $25 a tonne for the carbon dioxide it emits. Thatâs money thatâs no longer available for textbooks, teachers and nursing careâ¦
Most of this money winds up in the pockets of large private companies, which are paid for not emitting greenhouse gasses they almost certainly wouldnât have emitted anyway, according to investigations by The Vancouver Sun. Corporate recipients have included Encana, Interfor, Kruger and other companies that already had carbon-reduction projects under way or completed. Millions more have gone to the Nature Conservancy of Canada and aboriginal groups connected to the Great Bear Rainforest; they were paid for not cutting down trees they wouldnât have been allowed to cut down anyway. The prices are all negotiated by Pacific Carbon Trust, a Crown agency that specializes in voodoo carbon accountingâ¦
âItâs outrageous whatâs going on in the name of carbon offsets,â says Frank Lento, chair of the tiny, cash-strapped Southeast Kootenay school district. Last year, his district was dunned $80,000. âThat money is going from our classrooms to corporate boardrooms,â he told meâ¦
Do any of these shenanigans actually reduce emissions? Probably not. As Cornelis van Kooten, an economics professor at the University of Victoria, told me, âThe problem is that you cannot keep track of what exactly is being taken out of the atmosphere or going into the atmosphere.â Nonetheless, these schemes are popular with environmentalists and business. Why? âMoney. Thereâs tonnes of money in this.â
Carbon-offset schemes have created a lucrative niche for consultants, bureaucrats, accountants and entrepreneurs who, for tidy fees, will help you market credits, set the price, determine how much carbon dioxide youâre subtracting from the planet, and write reports certifying that your program is a brilliant success, even if itâs built on the backs of schoolchildren and sick people.
B.C.âs carbon-neutral green dream is a multimillion-dollar boondoggle. But that doesnât mean it will be shut down any time soonâ¦

The people in the UAE have the money to have a whole crew of welders to keep the fast cat ferries in sea worthy condition.
Even Joy McFail called this half a billion dollar Clark boondoggle “A failed experiment”
Good use of tax dollars-NOT.
PrinceGeorge The UN is relevant how?
Like everything else these days the building of ships is subject to international competition. If one does not have a competitive ship building industry it often makes sense to purchase ships from other countries, just like Canada relies on other countries to buy Canadian Made goods from Canada. I understand that the construction of the new military supply ships in Canada is already way behind schedule and over budget.
Germany buys airplanes which are made in Canada, so perhaps it isn’t such an unpardonable transgression if B.C. bought ferries from Germany.
Can someone repost that story that the CBC did on left lane drivers. Obviously some of these readers missed it.
Let’s not forget that Harper wants to borrow a page from the BC NDP and start ship building in BC. At Seaspan. If we followed the NDP’s plan, this would be in place now.
Retired 02:
I suggest you take your own advice and do a little research:P
“The three aluminum-hulled catamaran ferries (one still under construction) would not and could not perform as advertised.
They weren’t fast enough to significantly reduce travel times and thereby justify premium fares. But they were too expensive to operate as conventional vessels, particularly because their streamlined design precluded hauling more than a small number of buses or trucks.
Not suitable for the main routes. Not adaptable to others. Cramped quarters. Politically embarrassing. MacPhail left little doubt that the best course of action would be to get rid of them.”
Fast cats were a bit of a joke, holding less cars, taking longer to cross if there were any waves whatsoever, welds breaking from the pounding if there were waves/swells, engines blowing up. They sure looked nice sitting in the dock. Would have made great casino ships that just float in international waters to avoid taxes…
JohhnyBelt—– GOOD ONE… Grandma…ahahhah Thanks.. I needed that one..
yess if your being tailgated and you’re in left lane, maybe time to move to right lane. and if in left lane and cars behind ya are going in right lane to pass you, maybe it’s time for ya to make a stop at Starbucks..
My wisdom for the day :)
The United Nations is the Non-Governmental body that is responsible for global (international) security.
It is also the model for the future world government that is in development now.
We are still in the throws of pioneer expansionism. That cannot continue as one cannot have infinite growth in a finite space.
Some will say that this comment is just conspiracy theory, and it just may be. I ask that you individually do some research and take time to really consider the evidence.
It wasn’t Glen Cark and the NDP that designed, built and sold the people of British Columbia the “Fast cats”.
Our govt at the time were sold a bill of goods by those that were supposed to be professionals in their game.
Apparently they weren’t and the people of BC were taken for a ride.
Tell me again how this was the fault of our govt of the day?
How are the newest editions to our BC Ferries fleet working out?
Bad roads out there so please pay attention when changing lanes.
I had two people cut me off this morning and the one almost clipped the front end of my truck; you in the White Lincoln truck with a busted out back window; I was able to get pictures of your license plate and truck thanks to my passenger and they have been sent off to the RCMP. And to the lady in the red Chrysler minivan, just because you put your turn signal on does not mean you can change lanes, I had to slam on my brakes in order to not hit you. Next time put your signal on and i will safely slow down and let you in.
I have a theory on drivers.
The drivers who tailgate are bullies with time management issues and the right lane drivers who won’t move over are passive aggressive.
Their satisfaction is knowing that the bullies behind them are close to blowing a gasket.
Life is too short to have that kind of stress. Take a deep breath, leave a little earlier and have respect for your fellow drivers – even the ones that piss you off!
Now go and enjoy your weekend.
So what you are saying dragon is the the NDP are not fit to govern as they cannot do proper DD in assessing major projects or at least have performance guarantees written in a way to protect the taxpayer.
This was just a case of heaping tax dollars on the brothers and sisters in the union. Glen Clark dancing with the one who brung him.
Ya, thats why Glen Clark is the President of the Jim Pattison Group and president of The News Group North America. Because was incompetent.
Because he was incompetent.
How about don’t drive, walk , take a bus, jog, bike ride, snow shoe, cross country ski. Nobody talks about that eh. The constant whining on this site regarding the roads and drivers is rather annoying.
Retried 02
Let’s all sing the NDP Provincal anthem. All together now
Alberta bound, Alberta bound
It’s good to be Alberta bound.
So loki you would be happy with a world government run by a bloated corrupt very inefficient bureaucracy. Wow, and people think we have issues with our present governments, can I have a toke.
Seamutt:PrinceGeorge The UN is relevant how?
Well, that’s easy! Canada belongs to it, it is a long time member. If the UN is not relevant to anything, shouldn’t Canada leave it?
We boasted about the UN statistics when Canada was rated as number one, remember?
Perhaps you mean how is it relevant to the Friday Free For All? Well, it is a Free For All, so comments are allowed about anything by anybody…
Hospital parking lots-why do we have to pay for something my taxes should already be paying for? A hospital isn’t like a theater ( free parking) or a large department store (free parking) where we go to shop, a hospital is where you go it your sick, or your having a baby…or a loved one is there so you go to visit.
How many people get fined at our hospital because it was more important to stay bedside with a dying family member? Or because they are bleeding and waiting for hours and hours in our understaffed emergency room??
Our family pays thousands of dollars per year in income taxes, medical services premiums , carbon taxes, environmental fees etc etc….and etc. Don’t you think our governments in their wisdom could keep their damm hands out of our pockets at hospitals and cancer clinics? What is next paid parking at the local cemetery ??
Some services warrant having some type of user fees…hospital and cancer clinic parking lots are two that should never be used to siphon in a few extra dollars. IMHO
By using the left Lane only for Passing and turning left, I don’t piss any one off who is in a hurry for what ever Reason, even staying right until a few hundred Meters before you turn will keep the Speed Demons of your Bumper, let them fly by and stay calm, you know who will get the Ticket and pay the higher Insurance Rates, not me.
Jim, theatres and malls are privately owned, and the cost of maintaining the parking lot is incorporated in your theatre ticket or whatever you buy at the mall.
Yes, I get that we all pay taxes, but I fail to see how that entitles people to free parking at the Hospital (which inevitably would get abused). If parking were free at the Hospital, you’d be unlikely to find a spot based on what we’ve seen downtown.

Right. HA
I don’t recall mentioning any road or where I live. I also dont recall saying “the slow lane as you call it” I don’t think I “called it” anything.
I’m thinking that I posted a link and that’s about it.
So whether I live on the Hart, Bearverly anywhere else there is a four lane road. Do the right thing and everyone else a favour and stay in the right lane. Not Hey I’m travelling all the way from Beaverly, going up the Hart and turning left in MacKenzie but getting ready for my left hand turn. There I did say that. Get the difference?
“It’s a one way ticket! see ya!”
You got that right – just ask all of the companies that moved head office to Alberta last time the NDP was in power…
After working in Fort Mac for several years, it doesn’t seem to matter who is in government, we still have thousands working in Alberta.
Most things that influence our economy have absolutely nothing to do with our government. We are insignificant.
Some companies left for Alberta because of Ralph Klien’s “Alberta Advantage”, meaning rock bottom taxes for them. At the same time companies were moving to B.C. from elsewhere because of the “B.C. Advantage”, meaning low power rates.
Alberta no longer has room to move on taxes, and B.C. no longer has low power rates.
It will be interesting.
interceptor: You always sound mentally challenged with your posts.
On a more POSITIVE note, has anyone noticed how interesting downtown Prince George is becoming? Lots of coffee shops and tasty restaurants, window shopping and (so far) free parking. I love working downtown. Now we just have to get more places to live downtown.
sooo what;s with 250 and no Pope ?? Maybe was in slow lane when there was an article bout the New Pope. And what’s this bout his shady past?? Also, he has only one lung?? Are they trying to repeat history again?? Maybe end up with two retired Popes….
Procannibis – glad you enjoy. If I don’t make sense to a dopesmoker I must be doing something right :)

PGguy1234: Yes, I did notice the earth move last night! It felt like I was swimming in my bed. I thought I was crazy, thanks for your comment. Apparantly these were more earthquakes on Haida Gwaii
Just watched CKPG..apparently Mr. Charles Scott will be campaign manager to Liberal Shirley Bond. Just watched the Mar.4,2013 Public Hearing in regards to the OCP and Haldi. Also watched and listened to Charles talk about how on the day of the hearing made a few phonecalls to “other” (would have perhaps been useful had you mentioned which ones) planning departments throughout B.C. asking if they had any problems with Recovery Centers. ??? really ??? – absolute political madness and I call BS again!!
interceptor: loi :P
Yes Canada should leave the UN. How is it revlent to anything in its present state.
“asking if they had any problems with Recovery Centers”
Lousy researcher ….
If he had asked such question as where they are located, whether nighbour were cinsulted, whether their OCP had siting criteria, etc. etc., he may have discovered that the reasone there were no complaints is because the facilities were located properly …..
A peer review may have found that. Our Council would not even think of getting to that level of inquiry of what people present as a meaningful and credible survey. Charles should be ashamed of himself.
“tasty restaurants” I love eating restaurants …… I too find some very tasty …..
Good one interceptor. Do you feel the same way about those that consume alcohol?
If I’m in the left lane keeping up with traffic and you have to slow down…..too bad. Maybe I’m turning left up ahead, maybe I’m not.
Isn’t all this snow great! :)
