Prince George, B.C. – A group of people opposing the outcome of the Vanderhoof Pool referendum last month will be meeting today to bring everyone up to speed.
The group has retained a legal firm and will provide details of the legal opinion on appealing the referendum result as well as going over the cost of launching an appeal. They have a number of concerns about the referendum process, including which areas were allowed mail-in ballots, the timing of the vote and the number of votes allowed.
The referendum seeking funds for the operation of a new $12 million pool in Vanderhoof passed. It means people living in Area “F” of the Bulkley-Nechako Regional District will have to pay $1.08 per thousand dollars of assessed property value.
The meeting goes at 2 this afternoon at the Cluculz Lake Community Hall on Lund Road.
