Dust Advisory Continues

Prince George, B.C. – The dust advisory for Prince George continues.
The provincial air quality objective for fine particles (PM2.5) is 25 micrograms per cubic metre, averaged over 24 hours. The 24 hour PM2.5 rolling average was 12 µg/m3 at the Plaza 400 downtown site and 7 µg/m3 at College Heights at 3:00 pm today.
The provincial air quality objective for coarse particles (PM10) is 50 micrograms per cubic metre, averaged over 24 hours. The 24 hour PM10 rolling average was 58 µg/m3 at the Plaza 400 downtown, 18 µg/m3 at College Heights and 43 µg/m3 at BCR at 3:00 pm today.
Based on the quality data, the high levels are mainly due to road dust in the bowl area.
The Dust Advisory will be updated at 9:30 tomorrow morning.

Broom and a dust pan? Bill the city?
Someone suggested the boys at the Hilton on the hill, should be on push broom detail. Heck, they used to have them out on Foothills, picking up garbage in the spring.
City union wouldn’t stand for that for a minute.
Breathing dust and toxic chemical fumes and developing related medical ailments is just one of the hidden benefits of living in Prince George.
The BCR site is an absolute disgrace when it comes to air pollution and the condition of the roads.

Can someone tell Arctic Manufacturing on the Hart Highway. Yesterday they had their woodburning furnace going and you could see the smoke accumulating in the valley. It was not cold yesterday so I don’t know why they were burning.
