Quesnel, BC – With just over one month until what’s likely to be a hard-fought election, the BC Liberal government has announced another round of grants for Quesnel, within the Cariboo North riding currently held by Independent MLA Bob Simpson.

The province has announced $15-thousand dollars in grants to assist two Quesnel organizations that play a key role in housing assistance in that community.

The Quesnel Lions Club will be receiving $10-thousand dollars to develop plans for seniors’ housing on land owned by the society.  While the Quesnel Women’s Resource Centre has been given a $5-thousand dollar grant to support its local Drop-In Centre for women coping with domestic violence.

Also announced this past weekend were grants totalling more than $100-thousand dollars for the community to boost ongoing heritage efforts. (click here for previous story)
