CNC and Faculty Assoc. Have Tentative Deal

Thursday, April 11, 2013 @ 11:12 AM
Prince George, B.C. – The College of New Caledonia and the Faculty Association CNC have reached a tentative contract agreement.
The two-year agreement  provides for modest wage increases funded from savings found within existing budgets, as required under the 2012 Cooperative Gains Mandate.

The FACNC represents about 550 people at the College of New Caledonia.

The ratification vote has been tentatively set for the 27th of this month, but that may not be finalized until next week.

“We thank and congratulate the local and provincial bargaining teams for their efforts in reaching a successful conclusion to these negotiations,” said David Rourke, President of CNC’s Faculty Association.

If the contract is ratified by the Faculty Association, it will then go to the CNC Board of Governors for ratification.

If ratified by the board, the deal would then go to the Post Secondary Employers Association for final approval.

Sounds like a crap deal to me! What did they give up? A modest wage increase? Do they mean 1% like the rest of BC got?

Yes way, NoWay, 1% all the way!

Then they should vote it down if it is a measly 1%!
