Northern Sport Groups Receive Funding

Prince George, B.C. – Thirty-eight local sport organizations and Aboriginal communities in northern B.C. are receiving provincial grants of up to $5,000 each through the Northern Sport Strategy Initiative.
The $105,000 program is a one-time investment to support athlete and coach development for all northern B.C. residents in the lead-up to the 2015 Canada Winter Games in Prince George. The program is distributing funding to local sport clubs and Aboriginal groups for equipment related to any of the 35 winter and summer sports that are currently a part of the Canada Games.

Caledonia Nordic Ski Club – Cross Country Skiing Prince George $4000
Cariboo – Chilcotin Branch, Wheelchair Basketball Prince George $4000
Cariboo Ski Touring Club Biathlon Quesnel $4000
Fort St. James Curling Club Curling Fort St. James $2500
Murray Ridge Ski Area Freestyle Skiing Fort St. James $4000
Nechako Lakes Speed Skating Club Speed Skating Vanderhoof $3000
Northern British Columbia Freestyle Skiing Prince George $3000
Prince George Branch – Alpine Skiing Prince George $4500
Prince George Canoe Canoe Kayak Prince George $4000
Prince George Ringette Association $3500
Prince George Table Tennis Club $4000
Shuttlesport North Central Badminton Prince George $3000
Silvertip Archers Prince George $2500
