Clark Promises New Economic Advisory Council

Thursday, April 25, 2013 @ 2:03 PM
Prince George, B.C. – Premier Christy Clark took her election campaign to the Women’s Executive Network today and  promised if re-elected, her team would create a new “Premier’s Women’s Economic Advisory Council”.

The Council would provide feedback on how government can accelerate women’s business opportunities.

Clark continued to press her main campaign theme of controlled spending and debt reduction.

Main campaign theme? It seems obvious to anyone that there is no way in Hades that any politician will just say, “We will stand on our record”.

Clark won’t have to concern herself about creating anything after the election. The lieberals have created far too much distrust with their past lies and deceit.

“Clark continued to press her main campaign theme of controlled spending and debt reduction.”

How does anybody take this person seriously without breaking into hysterical laughter? She increased the Prov debt by 11 Billion in the first two years of her watch and plans on increasing it by another 13 Billion the first three years after the election.

She truly must believe that the people of BC are a bunch of fools.

btw… this is in no means an NDP endorsement. Dix should be nowhere near politics and I don’t think I need to go into the character of NDP Party President, Moe Sihota.

I’m sad to say that this election is going to come down to who you can stomach, not who is the best.

She became a very bad role model for all women who had aspirations to get involved in Politics. She was hired to clean the BC liberal party from lies and corruption, but the lies and corruption continued to expand in her very short term.

What a failure …

Just finished thumbing through a Free Press supplement called The Northern Report. Seems to me there are a lot of mining companies, suppliers, owners and employees, investors and such mired in the mining trade in this town. Looking at and remembering the NDPs mindset concerning mining last time they were in power, I have reason to suspect votes for them will be few and far between come May 14 with this constituancy of folks. If they can remember.

Clark never tried to get a free ride on the Vancouver transit by saying misplaced my ticket. I guess leader of the NDP will give everyone a free ride But if NDP get elected the free ride will cost in the end

Clark promises end of the dream.

When Coal hit rock bottem in the 90s along with copper at 60cents oh yes mines closed, its the world market that drives mines not goverments their just around to hand out tax breaks

Steph99…..

Don’t forget about Bre-ex either which had huge implications on the equity markets resulting in a lot of mining companies going bankrupt. The NDP haven’t really killed the mining industry during their last run but they sure as heck disk support it either.

ABC Anybody but Clark

The story about business and mines leaving the Country because of the NDP is nothing more than an Urban Legend.

I don’t support the NDP, mainly because I do not believe that they are capable of good Government. However its time to stop the BS in regards to how business left BC when they were elected.

I agree with steph99 prices for coal, copper, etc; were the real reasons some mines closed down. Another reason for some was the fact that the ore was depleted.

Whenever I ask those who blame the NDP for business leaving the Province to give me a list of names of companies that left, I am given nothing but a blank stare.

If you cant back up the legend with facts, then let it go.

The political parties of BC are nothing more than a band of opportunists, and no matter who gets elected, we the people are going to get screwed.

Our only hope is some sort of a coalition so that these people will have to work together to stay employed.

Can’t argue that palopu. It’s unfortunate that alot of voters can’t see past their own biases.

Everyone needs to get out and vote this election. Even if you don’t like either of the 2 main choices then cast a vote for the other guys. We need to enure BC doesn’t get another majority gov’t because of voter apathy.

The fact you’re missing is that the overall ‘Policy’ of all four of the main contenders is exactly the SAME. The only thing that differs amongst them is the ‘Method’ by which it’s going to be imposed on us.

Voting under that scenario for any of them is akin to an innocent man being convicted of a crime he didn’t commit, and being asked to choose the manner of his execution. Would he like to be hanged, shot, electocuted, or gassed? Well, that’s exactly the same kind of choice we’re being asked to make on election day.

The PROOF that there’s no difference in ‘policy’ will be illuminated after the election, when no matter who wins it will utter the immortal words, “We know we promised to do this or that, and we still want to, but we JUST DON’T HAVE THE MONEY.” In other words, whoever DOES “…have the money” (or, more correctly, a monopoly on its creation), is going to call the shots. And that sure isn’t US.

And that’s the difference between those one time pseudo-Socreds who now call themselves BC Liberals ( and maybe a few, BC Conservatives), and the real ones who long ago realised that anything that is “…physically possible, socially desirable, and morally correct, can ALWAYS be made FINANCIALLY possible.”

Harb, I agree. Just seems they shoot themselves in the foot every time they’re in power. Companies skedaddle to other provinces.

My brother told me that people can justify anything. Seems I believe it.

Mines? Urban legends? Not in Chile and Peru at the same time. But that’s different, eh? See comment above.
