Police Search for Suspect in Violent Sexual Assault

Prince George, B.C. – Prince George RCMP continue to search for a suspect in a violent sexual assault that took place in Lorne Park ( near the intersection of Massey Drive and Westwood Boulevard) on the weekend.
Investigators are still looking to speak to a woman who had noticed a male in Lorne Park just before the sexual assault took place on Saturday evening. The witness, concerned for her safety, left the area because a man, believed to be the suspect, had made her feel uncomfortable.
Police would also like to speak to anyone who may have had an uncomfortable encounter with a male of a similar description recently, especially in the area bound by:
· Massey Drive to the north
· Ferry Avenue to the south
· Westwood Drive to the east
· Ospika Boulevard to the west
The suspect is described as:
· Male with a medium complexion;
· Approximately 20 years old;
· 6 feet tall and stocky;
· Large dark coloured tattoo on his left arm;
· Wearing a hat, dark shorts, white high top basketball shoes with Velcro type fasteners
· Carrying a backpack.
"The Prince George RCMP do not take these reports lightly" says Prince George RCMP spokesperson Corporal Craig Douglass. "We have deployed a number of resources to this investigation and will continue to follow up on every tip and every bit of evidence. Please call us if you have any information to offer."
