Council Mixes it Up and Shuffles Seating Plan

Monday, May 6, 2013 @ 6:17 PM
Prince George, B.C.- They are the same players, but in different seats.

For the first time anyone can recall, Council for the City of Prince George has shuffled its seating plan .  The seating plan normally  last through a full term of a Council, but  with the exception of Councillor Albert Koehler, all members  of Council and  most of the staff, have switched it up.

The Mayor says the change is meant to offer an opportunity for Councillors to develop new relationships with their colleagues.

The City Manager, Beth James, took her seat at her first public Council Meeting, expressing pleasure at being  part of the Prince George team at City Hall “I look forward to working with Council and the community in the coming months”.

James started with the City May 1st, filling the post that was vacated by Derek Bates last October. The City’s Director of Financial Services, Kathleen Soltis,  had filled the position on an interim basis.

No “Titanic parallels”, please. Thank you.

Not a parallel it’s an exact match. Huge iceberg directly in their path, the electorate of PG. Can’t think of any good reasons to keep any of this elected group including the resident contrarian Skakun. Elect a group that works together and for the residents then a pain in the arse is not required.

My attitude would be if you got eight or nine people in a room they couldn’t agree on what to have for lunch. Good luck with that match.

LOL – just makes you wonder,….so it is true then they are not a team? If they have not “developed” new relationships they never will. LOL

Now that is what I call change at city hall….Yuppers, you don’t get my vote….

While they were playing musical chairs they should have removed one seat…..the mayor could have fulfilled one of her main campaign promises a 10% reduction in an area of city hall that is anything but efficient.

And this is news?

It is probably the only way she could get Spitz further away.
