The Evil That Some Do- The Horror of Cleveland

Thursday, May 9, 2013 @ 3:44 AM
What possibly could go through the mind of a person in the kidnapping and holding of three young women in Cleveland?  By now  you have likely heard of the the  three  kidnapped women who  finally  found their freedom this  week from the hell  they had endured over the past ten years.

Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus, and Michelle Knight had been kidnapped and held at the home in a poor section of Cleveland for a decade.

One  man, Ariel Castro, stands accused  in the case ( not all three  as has been reported earlier).  The former school bus driver, faces  four counts of kidnapping , (one for each woman and one for the child born to  one of the women while held prisoner)  and three counts of rape, against all three women.  Castro is now the sole suspect in the case, his two brothers who were initially suspected of being involved are no longer suspects.

Can you in your wildest dreams comprehend how  anyone  was able to keep these young women fearing for their lives for more than 3,650 days?  In the case of Amanda  Berry, she had a child who is now six years old.

The women were kidnapped when they were in their early teens or early twenties and  had been  held  in that house, in some cases going without food for days at a time.

The sexual assaults went on for years .

If you stop for a moment and give thought to what it was like for these three women, you simply cannot help but feel the pain that they went through and the revulsion that you feel towards people who would do such an act.

Then  take a moment to  think about the courage of these women,  who, despite ten years of  brutal captivity,  found a way to survive,  found the strength to make a break for it.  That kind of courage  is nothing short of inspiring.

I’m Meisner and that’s one man’s opinion.

This editorial has been revised from its previous version which  indicated three men were involved.  It was based on information which is no longer valid.  We apologize for the error.

Eagleone, now you are perpetuating the inaccuracy of Ben’s opinion piece. Only the one brother kidnapped and raped these poor girls.

If you followed this story, the Police were at that house twice over the years and saw nothing out of sorts. Should they get the death penalty as well?

Put them in general population and post posters of their offence with their picture throughout the cells.

Thanks Ben for writing about how strong these women were and are.

I don’t think we should even try to understand why and how people can do this sort of thing to other people because it is beyond the realm of a normal mind.

I find it bizarre that when he was kidnapping and raping these girls he accused and succeeded in a conviction against the partner of his ex-wife for molesting his daughters.

I don’t think we have heard the end of this story yet. The guy has manipulated the justice system before and the guy may have more skeletons in his cabinet. They haven’t found the aborted babies yet.

I’m thinking the guy should recieve a government sponsored 1 way ticket to hell.

“I don’t think we have heard the end of this story yet.”

Not with the news channels such as CNN getting another story to spend 20 hours of programming on. They will milk it for what it is worth.

In the meantime we do not hear about the story of the mother who was interrupted by her child while she was playing a game on Facebook. Shook the kid … smoked to calm down …. then shook the kid again for good measure.

It is the human factor …… any manufacturer can expect recalls ….even God.
