Great Weather For Today’s Elks Parade

Prince George, B.C. – It promises to be a gorgeous day for the 85th annual Prince George Elks May Day Parade.
Sunshine and a temperature up around 20 degrees will greet people who gather downtown to take in the event. The majority of the participants will be gathering at the Coliseum between 9:30 and 11 this morning, although some will get there around 8:30 to put the finishing touches on their floats.
The parade starts at 11 at the Coliseum. It runs through the Civic Centre Plaza to 7th Avenue, up 7th past the Legion to Brunswick where it hangs a left and travels past the Coast Inn. From there a right onto 8th, a right on Victoria, over to 3rd Avenue, down to George Street and back to the Coliseum.
The parade runs about an hour, concluding at noon.

I just saw the small but happy parade on Victoria Street. However, I must say to all the drivers who passed the eagarly awaiting chldren and parents on the sidewalks, that there were signs in place letting the vehicle public know that a parade was going to happen at 11:00 am. I don’t know if you didn’t realize it or did the drivers of the vehicles didn’t see them or give a #$%& for the lines of people on the sidewalk, even when the RCMP crusier had the sirens on. You should have stopped and maybe part take in the parade by showing everyone who watched,how to speed and maybe take someone out. !@@holes
