Prince George, B.C. – The sky over Prince George clouded up a little but the temperature was plenty warm for the 85th edition of the Elk’s May Day Parade.

It kicked off at 11 Saturday morning from Dominion and 7th Avenue and took about fifteen minutes to pass any given point. And there were plenty of attractions to entertain the crowds that gathered along the parade route. Everything from bagpipes to bears, belles to belly dancers. There was the Pipe and Drum Corp, the Traditional Old Fort Dancers and native dancers from Burns Lake, the Old Time Fiddlers and the 4-H Club. Fire trucks and Girl Guides, and of course the floats of the Elks and the Royal Purple.

The parade made its way up to Victoria then down 3rd Avenue to George Street and back to the assembly point at the Coliseum. Great fun for the whole family because, as you know, everyone loves a parade!

You forgot to mention the Liberal party float – something we all wanted to see at a family fun gathering *NOT*

Give it a rest.

Good for the Red Hat ladies. The float looks like a lot of time and effort went into your display.

i agree, they wait for me when i leave work in the parking lot, they call me at home during dinner and now i cant take my kid for a parade without getting force fed politics. bad taste to the organisers.
